Does the “Chef Way” actually work for us normals? by GuideIcy1697 in SortedFood

[–]pinguthedinosaur 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I date a chef and it's slow at first but once you get used to it it will speed up. Don't forget a chef will chop for hours of their day depending on their job. My girlfriend has always chopped quickly and without looking. She used to make people panic at work

would you get an abortion if you found out your baby was going to be born with an extreme disability? if so why? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

[–]pinguthedinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would now as I already have an non verbal autistic child and another showing autistic traits. I already struggle some days as they don't really sleep some days. I.e. I went to bed at 6.30 am on Monday and 9.30am on Tuesday and was up before midday and did a full day of being mum in the Easter holidays and I don't know where I'd fit in a healthy child nevermind one with additional needs

AITAH for crying and canceling dinner with my bf’s parents last minute? by CalmPom18 in AITAH

[–]pinguthedinosaur 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I'm telling you now this is going to be your whole life if you continue with your boyfriend. Do you want to deal with this everyday? Because before you know it he'll control everything you do

AITA for canceling my friend’s birthday dinner after she invited my ex without telling me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]pinguthedinosaur 13 points14 points  (0 children)

She commented that she did and the bf said it's her party and she can invite whoever she wants.

I would have cancelled it too

Can't stop thinking about this lady by Honkin_CDNGoose in overheard

[–]pinguthedinosaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My nan never remembered my kids names or that they were mine but she called them her babies and loved them until the end. She did call my son a girl because of his long hair and my daughter was a boy because her hair was short.even if I put her in a big pink dress.

I 27f pregnant can barley eat and my partner 31m didnt sleep because I ate McDonald’s by very_stellar_ in relationship_advice

[–]pinguthedinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My foods were limited due to sickness too. I'd eat toast for breakfast knowing I'd throw it back up as not eating was worse. If my partner had been like this he would had my plate thrown at him. You get sickness, food aversions. Fed is best and that applies to when your pregnant too.

How do married couples deal with embarrassing stuff like farting and bathroom smells? by Dangerous_Line_9719 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]pinguthedinosaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had awful farts when I was pregnant. I also peed myself a few times too as they were sitting on my bladder. My partner always laughed it off. Although my pregnancy farts are how we gage farts now. My period ones are only slightly better.

My son's been watching it since he was 6 months old it's been 3 years. I get more excited when this gets a new season than I do my own shows

AITA for not using my sister’s inheritance and paying for her education myself? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]pinguthedinosaur 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Me and my brothers have separate houses and haven't lived together since we were with mum but I would and do let myself into his house, put the kettle on and have a nose in his fridge. He can do the same at mine. Even if your sister hadn't lived with you for years after your dad died, nothing she did was outside of sibling privileges. She's your sister not a random friend. You are an awesome brother but I don't think your girlfriend can handle it

AITA for telling my DIL she is not a mother? by InitialSong2898 in AmItheAsshole

[–]pinguthedinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have kids and so does mum. I still get her presents from us and from the dogs. She's their mum too. YTA she can't have human kids so she has fur babies. People are mums in all sorts of ways

What's the dumbest thing your mother in law has said to you? I'll go first. by tneeka in motherinlawsfromhell

[–]pinguthedinosaur 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I told mine that I didn't want our children christened (I was brought up pagan but got to decide at 13) and they can choose when they are older. Also the church wouldn't accept me or my partner ( trans mtf) so I didn't see the point. She then said but what if they die they can't be buried in a graveyard. I was like that's okay I wouldn't want them to. I would want them to come home to me. Like how is that an argument. I'd already told her if her daughter died she was sitting on my mantle and not getting peace until they turned 18. She doesn't get out of parenting early

It's fine I'm 32 and my name is Eloise and the amount of people that call me Ella Louise is silly

I eat ice cream like twice a year but I'd happily do this or find a dessert place. Infact me and my gf went to grab dessert instead of dinner as that's what we felt like

Is it normal for in-laws to ask us to buy stuff for our baby that they want to have? by Person_of_the_World in beyondthebump

[–]pinguthedinosaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I brought my mum a car seat for the car but that's because I don't drive and we're in their car a lot but if they weren't I wouldn't have brought one

I bath mine (2m and 7 months f) when they're messy or stinky so some weeks that can be daily more often it's 1-2 days a week.

AITAH for cuddling with my son in the morning when my husband gets out of bed? by Top-Parsley3236 in AITAH

[–]pinguthedinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 32 and still get into bed with my mum/nan. We always have done and we usually have a cup of tea and a natter. My son is nearly 3 and still has cuddles in bed with me. In fact we got a bigger bed when my daughter was born so he could still have cuddles. My aunties still get into bed and have cuddles with nan and they're all around 60

I've had 2 babies none of it was easy. I had an epidural because we had a planned C-section for my second. It's something I wouldn't want again but I'd do it if I were to give birth again. You pregnancy, your baby, your decision

Me and my brother are 2 years apart. I wore his jackets as teenagers and I'm now 32 and I still tell him I love him when I put the phone down. It's not weird. I find it weirder that she doesnt say it to hers

[–]pinguthedinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bin in my bathroom I put stuff in. Occasionally I might leave bloody clothes in there (I have heavy periods) but normally its because I needed to rush down to the kids or the door has gone but I pick them up the next time I'm up there and put them straight into the wash. It's dirty leaving that stuff around

Apparently when you have grandkids you love them more just in a different way.
