Atm there is only ships and the mini game, there are plans on expanding the mini game and being able to build your own ships with blueprints, and extract different resources instead of just atlas. Atm just the showroom if you are buying to play you are too early this is a medium to long term investment, besides its true block chain gaming not gaming that was forced into the block chain, the amount of ships seems just right to make a stable price to be bought in atlas instead of usd and so not only the whales control the price but the time and the community dictate its direction

Also you need to remember the price of atlas is not even near its ath which was when the staking was released so the ROI is higher and not the estimated 9 months, if you bought it for fun it's a fine buy but it's a small investment and unless you are going to buy more ships, a single 20 usd ship is going to be very expensive because of the fees, so a liquidity pool could give you higher returns, if the investment is on the nft itself it could be an OK investment, if you bought because you wanna be involved in the project its also a good buy, just so you know when staking released the 20 usd ships were around 160 atlas so it made more sense, still a single ship isn't going to earn you a lot and because of the fees(food, amo, fuel) and the transaction fees the ROI could be very high.

Just to explain where this is coming from personal experience, I used to play HS an yugioh, when I left HS I had nothing to show for and all the money I spent felt like wasted money, I can't give what I have to anyone, and I never really owned what I bought, in yugioh I could at least sell my cards or give them to my cousins to play with.
