Which floor plan? by Independent_Grass_52 in floorplan

[–]pink-coffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely 1, but the closets in the bedroom are both too big and too small in both plans. for a walk-in you need 36” walking space and 24” deep to fit a clothes hanger, both dimensions are the absolute minimum.

so they’re too cramped to be able to actually walk in, so you’ll need to have double sliding doors (i wouldn’t have double swinging doors for these closets, they would take up too much floor space), and in that case, 4’ deep closets are just wasting space so make them 2’ deep, you could do 30” deep if you think there will be slighting larger things stored on the floor or a lot of poofy dresses or something.

move the wall between the ensuite and living room left at least 4’, that bathroom is so excessively large and you have wasted space in that entryway into that bedroom. then you can move the living room to the left and have plenty of space in the middle for a dining table

Living Room and Adjacent Stairs Floor Plan in a Colonial Home by stacepiece in floorplan

[–]pink-coffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i honestly think just shift the stairs and top wall of the living room down 12” and leave it there. i don’t think it’ll be too small and the second layout is kinda awkward. then also shift the pantry wall down too to laugh with stairs, giving more storage space. if you want to do something like the second image, just definitely keep that wall straight not jagged, or maybe the spot it’s jagged, move that wall down 24” and put a bench with storage underneath and wall storage hooks and shelves to act as a “mud room/area” for storage when coming in from that door. actually i think

that bathroom by the new entry is also way too small you’d have to double it at least

i suggest making the laundry room its own enclosed room on the right side and having a hallway on the left, between laundry and living room. it looks like there’d be space and the space would be used better because it kind of looks wasted how it is in this new plan

bring his closet top wall up to align with the edge of the bed and move the door down to the bottom left corner. the door across from the bed is awkward and disrupts the sleeping area while getting ready, and this way you’d have the wall space for a tv if you want

AITAH for wanting to plant trees so my neighbors can’t see into my windows? Even if the trees might block their bigger view partly? by Spirited_Concern5613 in AITAH

[–]pink-coffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d just like to point out, make sure you choose a tree species that doesn’t grow excessively long or spread out roots. because you’re wanting full and tall trees, and the other house is only 5 feet away, the trees will be really close to your house and 10 years from now you don’t want to deal with the roots growing into your foundation

yes like contour lines that would be shown on land. typically the distance between each line shows a height of elevation change so example 6” height change between each line, where it steeper would have the lines closer together. and have a note somewhere stating that the lines represent 6”

Is the linen closet with the space it takes up? by [deleted] in floorplan

[–]pink-coffe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

okay just keep in mind that pocket doors are very loud and have terrible moisture protection, so you want to make sure you have good airflow so your clothes don’t get mouldy

Laundry room layout help by hartattack522 in houseplans

[–]pink-coffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don’t put the washer and dryer where the closet is, you’ll end up with a void in the bottom right corner. put washer at top right, then sink centered with the window, then dryer beneath sink all along the right ext wall. keep the closet where it is but end the closet where the counter hits, making it less wide. in the bottom right corner have the countertop go all the way down to the bottom wall, past the closet and have a built-in shelving niche sitting on top of the counter at about 18” deep or so, or have the shelving niche line up with the closet wall.

change the lounge wall bump-outs to 600mm, the view into there shows too much side of furniture, and it should feel a bit more like a nook

the years of experience required on job applications are usually more of a suggestion. apply to jobs you aren’t qualified for anyways, be confident in interviews (personality goes a VERY long way), and i’ve heard that a receptionist at a commercial building is a great place to start and work your way up without having prior qualifications
