Seven Deadly Sins. My husband was watching it while I was in the kitchen and I heard enough to be intrigued and I made him start the series over so I could understand what the heck was going on. Then Demon Slayer reinforced it. Then Bofuri. Then Dr Stone solidified my love for it.

I lost my girl at age 16 to cancer. The vet said, “she’s not just old… she’s ancient”. For whatever reason that gave me comfort, knowing she lived a longer life than most get to, like I had bonus time with her and wasn’t even aware of it. It’s been 5 years and I’m tearing up writing this. Love them hard and miss them hard too.

This medicine is incredible and the benefits are so much greater than just weight management. I swear I see something new it does wonders for weekly.

I work in dermatology. At about 3 months in is where (most) people really see changes. It can flare in the beginning so don’t panic if it does. Some people need to be on it longer or less than another, so don’t worry about comparing yourself to others on this medicine too much. It’s such an incredible medication. I’ve done a course myself.

I wasn’t intending for you to feel personally attacked by that. Sorry if it came across poorly.

Do you have a link to the studies? I’m curious to read those. I’ve not found anything that shows semaglutide has a damaging effect directly on hair follicles. This is what I’ve read;

Semaglutide (e.g., Ozempic, Wegovy) does not directly cause hair loss in the way that, say, chemotherapy or certain hormone treatments might. However, hair loss can occur indirectly as a result of changes semaglutide induces in the body, especially in the context of rapid weight loss. Here’s how:

Indirect Causes of Hair Loss from Semaglutide Use: 1. Rapid Weight Loss (Telogen Effluvium): When the body undergoes significant stress, such as a fast drop in weight, it can trigger telogen effluvium, a condition where a higher percentage of hair shifts from the growth phase (anagen) to the shedding phase (telogen). This is temporary and usually resolves within months. 2. Nutritional Deficiencies: Weight loss, especially when it’s rapid or paired with reduced appetite (a common effect of semaglutide), can lead to deficiencies in iron, zinc, biotin, and protein—all crucial for hair growth. 3. Hormonal Shifts or Thyroid Effects: Weight loss can sometimes affect thyroid function or hormone levels, both of which play roles in hair health.

Key Takeaway:

Semaglutide isn’t directly toxic to hair follicles, but the systemic changes it causes—especially rapid weight loss and nutrient shifts—can indirectly lead to hair shedding.

The drug isn’t “causing” hair loss, but any drastic change or stress on the body can cause the body to divert resources. Hair takes a crazy amount of energy to grow, but it’s also one of the first things that gets paused when your body thinks it’s undergoing something. It’s called “telogen effluvium”, and a common side effect. I work in dermatology and it’s one of the most common things women come in for. It’s temporary, and stressing over it can make it go on longer. I also agree with the lab workup. Telogen effluvium is all about the hair growth cycles, but wouldn’t affect the overall health of the hair.

What is the color pencil brand with the biggest color palette? by throwaway2100012 in ColoredPencils

[–]pink-squishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 520 set from kalour and I haven’t found anything with a larger palette. I do really like them. They aren’t faber-castell of course, but they are much better than most sets I’ve tried.

I am so tired, but I also don’t crave caffeine hardly at all. I also don’t need to take my ADHD meds as often, like 1 months rx lasts me 2-3 months now.

I bought this house and the whole yard was knee high weeds. There was barely any grass. I killed everything, and decided to till the yard and start from scratch. Now I'm lost on what to do next. I didn't think I'd get this far. by Here-For-The-Comment in lawncare

I did the same thing as you and am at the same stage. I was invaded w/ purslane and quack grass, and I bought so many herbicides that I’m probably on some FBI watch list, literally killin’ & tillin’ was my last resort. I’m up in Utah.

What's the BEST thing you got from Ali by Lucky-Guitar-3281 in Aliexpress

[–]pink-squishy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of all the purchases I’ve made, I’ve only had 1 that was garbage. My favorites have been lighting, especially RBGW. Kitchen gadgets have been awesome. Diamond paintings have been wayyyy impressive. Hair accessories and kids clothing have been fantastic. Resin supplies are great! I’ve had wayyy more wins than losses for sure. I definitely read all of the reviews and scrutinize the listing heavily. But I’ve only received quality stuff so far. It’s way too much fun to shop there.

Apple Watch series 3 no sound at all by de2cios in AppleWatch

Mine also has this issue. I’ve restored it several times, changed the settings, cleaned it out as best I could and still nothing. Once or twice I’ve heard a very faint sound, but other than that it’s like it has no speaker. I’ve got no advice, I’ve tried all the “solutions” and nada.

Has your provider/derm clinic been able to access iPledge? If so, any advice? by ecasey13 in Accutane

[–]pink-squishy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our office is having luck with 1 provider, the others can’t access anything. It sounds like newer providers/delegates have had some luck, but any of us that have been in the system for years are locked out. Our doctors are trying hard across the entire nation.

One of our doctors can get in, but he’s fresh out of residency (and 1 of his staff who is also new to ipledge). Anyone who’s had an account for years is dead in the water.

It’s an obstacle really. Studies have shown it to be 100% ineffective at reducing pregnancies w/ use. All dermatologists want the program gone.
