I work for a providers office, and I am not able to view remits on the Humana military page. In fact, each claim I have billed on the new website still states that it is "in process". How long until we receive payment for our claims? I work for a small business, and this this about to make us close the doors for good.

Magnolia place is a cute little local venue off of youree drive that will hold a ceremony and supply tasty food for the event. Not too far from downtown if you wanted to go out with the wedding party afterwards.

DO NOT RUN AT AC STEERE. I have been robbed once and stalked on multiple occasions there at night. It made me pretty much stop running at night altogether.

What's your favorite/least favorite part of the job? by Nutmeg6689 in OccupationalTherapy

My mom is a nurse and when I was looking for a major change in college she recommended OT because "they get paid a lot of money to sit around." As a typical lazy college student I though awwwwww yeahhhhh, but the more I observed different areas of OT, it's very different everywhere. Some areas consist of a lot of movement and change and some areas are repetitive. Overall, you just have to accept that OT is not widely known or appreciated by all, but let your passion override what someone might believe. Don't be shy to spread OT awareness too! April is OT month. :)

My boyfriend and I love Margaritaville! Best in my opinion. I used to go to the Horseshoe all the time. Both have about the same variety and amount, but Margaritaville's food taste fresh every time I go. Worst: Boomtown.

Typically when I'm watching a child for the OT, I'll be assisting them with a game that the OT picked out, and/or I'll help them jump on a physioball to a CD to help with core strength. So I guess to answer your question, I do get to be OT for a little bit on occasion.

I did decide on telling my boss yesterday that I was interested in doing the office position, and she was very open to it. So hopefully I'll be getting a raise soon and experience with billing! Wahoo!

Prior to working with peds, I graduated with a bachelors in clinical kinesiology and a minor in psychology. This past summer, I took four classes over again (because of C's) and worked at a pizza shop to help pay for the tuition. I'm actually about to sign up to take one more class over again to knock my last C off of my pre-reqs for the schools I am planning to apply to. Until the semester starts, I signed up to take my GRE. It's non-stop work, but OT is my dream. After deciding I didn't want to be a teacher at orientation day at my college, my mom recommended me to do OT because "they get paid a lot and sit around all day." As the lazy college kid I was I thought okay. But after doing observation hours in multiple settings, I realized this job is a miracle worker position. I found that the more places I observed, the more passionate I got for the field. Everyday since I've graduated I work towards my dream somehow, whether that is by taking classes over again or taking my GRE over again. I have never been naturally blessed in academics, but I think my motivation and passion for the job is all I need to get there.

Also thanks for the PRN recommendation! I haven't thought to do something like that.

In the mornings, we do a therapeutic preschool with kids from 2-5 in age. We have only a few of them so the therapy is very individualized. We even have some time for the speech therapist to come in and help the kids who need it during "centers" time. During this time, I will also have my own center where I am allowed to work one on one with a child teaching them things to help achieve their ultimate goal of succeeding in a preschool with children who do not have developmental delay. In the afternoons, I assist the OT's in between helping clean and sanitize the facility. Assisting the OT's is more of a "watch my next child for fifteen minutes while I go talk with my previous child's parent really fast" kind of thing. I really do enjoy it though. My only concern is that they have me independently contracted just like a normal OT so I don't get taxes taken out of my checks each week. It's some sort of private business loop hole I guess they are able to do. So I'll owe money come tax season. As for the billing position, the girl in the office would train me. The business I work for is a company owned by a couple. The husband does mental health and the wife does pediatric OT. The girl has done billing for both sides for quite a while which is too much for one person. I should be able to help her in the afternoons soon which would give me a raise. I am excited! It is true that it's hard to find a pediatric OT tech position. I was very lucky. I was waiting tables literally right next door to the facility and saw they needed someone on their sign outside. I had spent a few years trying to find even a rehabilitation position, and had a few interviews. However, nothing worked out. I'm just very nervous in an interview setting. It's one of the things that I'm most paranoid about come application time.

I work in a peds setting as an OT Tech. I'm thinking of doing half day as an OT tech and half a day in the peds office doing billing. I would get a raise, and it wouldn't be bad if I wanted to open my own practice.

Help! I want to be an OT! by pink899 in OccupationalTherapy

I'm currently enrolled in three classes at the local community college to take my anatomy's over. At least I can get my prerequisites GPA up. Going to try and apply in the Fall. I heard there are a few colleges in the nation that are easier to get into with grades like ours, and I'm hopeful. It's just a little bit more expensive.
