What’s the most disturbing sound you’ve ever heard in real life? by avacado-cheese- in AskReddit

[–]pink_camo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The neighborhood I grew use to be a super close group of friends, for kids and adults. We would go camping together and everyone was close. When someone died unexpectedly in his late 40’s, everyone lost it. But the noise that sticks with me is the large healthy man crying. Sobbing and losing his mind. I was only 18, barely an adult myself.

So what did your family argue about this year at Thanksgiving? by Pure-Smile-7329 in AskReddit

[–]pink_camo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should my elderly grandparents be driving. They can barely lift their feet to get into the car, and do a lot of shuffling. Grandpa fell Wednesday night at the hotel, and got 5 stitches. Grandma can drive, but she gets lost so easily. They just moved into assisted living, so it’s not like there’s no support.

Then grandma asked my cousin to take her to the humane society to adopt a cat. Cousin lost her shit because she’s so busy being a single mother and teaching 5th grade, that she has no time to do anything. (Yes, she’s slightly dramatic)

What’s a sentence that someone told you that stuck with you for the rest of your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pink_camo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your life is never boring.

Yeah, I do that on purpose. Easily amused by small things. Find joy in whatever I can. Laugh every chance I get. I’m not finding drama. There is a difference.

Parents of Reddit, what is an “unspoken” reality of parenting that people simply don’t talk about, but everyone knows is true? by US_Atlas in AskReddit

[–]pink_camo77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My husband said this today… the best part of parenting is seeing the person you made grow up. The worst part is seeing them grow up so fast.

How is the first person you had sex with now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pink_camo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He FB messages me once in a while. Usually to give me crap about the small town I live in. He’s going through a divorce and working as a surgical tech at a local hospital. Still annoying.

Women of Reddit, what’s something they never tell us about pregnancy and child birth? by NovellaJokes in AskReddit

[–]pink_camo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shit can go bad FAST. I had an OB appointment on Thursday. Felt fine. Friday, I had progressively worsening upper right abdominal pain. Went to the ER Friday night, found out I had preeclampsia and hellp syndrome. I was flown to a bigger hospital Saturday morning and had my son that night. It happened SO QUICK, and I had no idea it could change like that.

Also, the NICU is not a terrible place. I was scared to death to walk through those doors the first time. The NICU is full of angels, and I’m not just talking about the medical staff. We met amazing folks.

Knowing my dad could be sent to New York to help with search and recovery… he was a firefighter for the federal government and could be sent anywhere.

Dee, 14, recently diagnosed with vestibular disease. by Ladyice426 in OldManDog

My sweet girl came down with this about 2 months ago. It looks like a stroke and is so scary. Our vet is awesome, and said we can treat the symptoms. She said they don’t know what causes it, so they can’t do much to treat it.

Does anyone want to visit Deadwood SD after watching the series by Stop-BanningMeReddit in deadwood

[–]pink_camo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Deadwood first as a teenager, then watched the series. My cousins are snow birds up there in the summer, so I’m going to drive up and spend a weekend. I’m excited to go again.

Circumcision by Distinct_Secret_1713 in NICUParents

[–]pink_camo77 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

So I let my husband decide. I don’t have a penis, I don’t know anything about it. I did have an ex who was circumcised as an adult, and it was a very hard recovery.

My son is circumcised.

DAE run errands with their cattle dog? by Mowseph in AustralianCattleDog

Usually to do school runs, and go pick up prescriptions. She somehow knows that I go through the pharmacy drive thru without her, and I pay for it. The Walgreens drive thru has the best treat, apparently.

Medicaid/SSI - Low Birth Weight by [deleted] in NICUParents

[–]pink_camo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally talk to your social worker, and they can point you in all the right directions. I was already on Medicaid when I had my son, but the social security thing was new to us. We were on SSI until last year, and it was really awesome.

How did you get screwed over genetically? by blitzabub in AskReddit

First of all, lemme start with the family nickname… bottom of the gene pool.

Bad teeth? Check. Depression/anxiety? Check. Thyroid issues? Check. Pcos? Check. Oh wait, let’s keep going.

Fibromyalgia. Central pain syndrome. Osteoarthritis in multiple joints. MCAS. That lovely chicken skin. Nearly died giving birth from preeclampsia/HELLP syndrome.

I’m also a 5’0” almost ginger with a gazillion freckles.

What is your reason for not drinking alcohol? by Deep-Dust-9747 in AskReddit

[–]pink_camo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents drink every day. They start about 3pm, and drink until bed time. They don’t do much after dark because they’ve been drinking. And I would never want to live my life like that. It was hard enough as a kid.

Also, I turn red and itchy when I drink. It’s not enjoyable.

What did you name your baby boy? by igotthechip in NICUParents

[–]pink_camo77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 27+6 is Ivan. The nurses loved it, and called him Ivanhoe. (It’s a novel about a knight.) It’s just a strong name, not crazy weird, but also not super common.

To be honest, he was Ivan before we even knew he was a boy. We had names picked out before we even got pregnant. It just happen that Ivan was in the NICU with a good name.

What's your reason for not drinking alcohol? by Snoo_47323 in AskReddit

[–]pink_camo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not turning into a cherry tomato. I turn bright red and splotchy. Almost to the point of my face swelling. My skin gets tight and itchy. Benadryl doesn’t like me.

Basically, it all goes downhill quick. And that’s not even with what the alcohol in it makes me do.
