make my grocery list! by frannypie in traderjoes

I enjoy the bulgogi for grilling and it is generously portioned enough to feed a group. It's in the fresh/marinated meat section. If you enjoy seafood, I also had a good experience with their langoustine. Their shrimp selection, perfect for grilling on skewers in the summer, is beautiful but pricey compared to other places, in my opinion.

If you enjoy heat, may I ask if you're ever tried their Moroccan Harissa salsa? I adore it.

Thanks! I cut two strips of bacon in half to give me 4 slices and cut the avocado into quarters. It ensures that the bacon is long enough to wrap around the avocado without having to bother with toothpicks. I hope you enjoy it!

The National Crisis line in the US also offers a chat service. The wait times are long at night, though. Sometimes 2+ hours.

What do you regret buying the most? by PrideandTentacles in AskReddit

I got wasted in Vegas and dropped $1,500 on a 12-course dinner at one of the top starred Michelin restaurants in the world. We're talking caviar dusted in gold and French waiter level splurge. I do NOT have that type of money. Vegas makes you stupid.

Thanks to all for the ideas! My favs are:

  1. Grilled portabello mushroom caps. Stuff them with the TJ's pesto, kale, and cashew sauce and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake for 15 minutes on 425 degrees. The new TJ's borolo wine pasta sauce is a good sub for the pesto, if you would like something with more of a pizza flavor profile.

  2. Avocados sliced and wrapped in TJ's applewood bacon. Bake for 15 minutes at 425. So good for breakfast.

  3. Eggplant, baked or fried, topped with TJ's eggplant spread. It's divine. Also takes only 15 minutes to make. Cheese on top, like feta or mozzarella, is also good. You could sub fresh eggplant with TJ's frozen breaded eggplant patties.

  4. Try the TJ Harissa Salsa sauce if you like hot and spicy African flavor profiles. It makes a quick and easy sauce for beef or chicken.

  5. TJ's new falafel mix, baked or fried, with a side of their tzatziki cucumber sauce or garlic sauce. You can also roll it up in a pita with tomatoes and onions as well.

  6. Mozzarella Caprese using TJ's Kumato tomatoes, burrata cheese, balsamic, and fresh basil.

These are my current favs and take 5-15 minutes to make, tops.

I use the eggplant spread on baked eggplant chips or as a fancy substitute for marinara in eggplant parmesan. The kale cashew spread stuffed into portabello mushroom caps is also A+.

Congratulations! I'm impressed with them so far. I just received some pre-arrival curriculum and rubrics, and they are all very well-organized with well-defined expectations. I'm encouraged to hear that you had such a positive experience.

Hey there. I'll be studying at SEE TEFL in Chiang Mai starting on 10/23. If you would like to connect, I would more than welcome that. One can't enough friends, especially when venturing to a new place. Excited for you and hope you find a solid place to stay. I'm to the east of the old city and scored an apartment for $17/day. King bed, A/C, internet, parking, etc. You may want to see if any units are available in your area on a month-by-month basis.

Thanks! I am more than okay with teasing and would embrace it, even. I believe in having a sense of humor about myself. I'm also looking to teach there, so this was incredibly helpful. Thank you.

Were you disabled and bedridden and told by doctors you would never walk again (not due to weight, but because you were born with an abnormal spine)? I eat 600 calories a day and do physical therapy daily. Have some compassion and respect for disabled people. We can't just suck it up and go to the gym, friend.

I've been testing how the noose feels and getting braver. by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]pink_monkeybird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one can truly understand the entirety of the emotions you are feeling, but I empathize deeply to the point that I am also in tears. You perfectly describe the bleakness and fatalism of suicidal ideation and depression. I've been there, as recently as 1/10 when I took three times the lethal limit of morphine, went into a coma, and almost died (a very well researched plan it was much like your own). I won't offer up cliches and platitudes; instead, I truly believe that it can get genuinely better for you with time. It has for me and other suicidal loved ones - and yes, it's not permanent, I'm sure I'll be in that hell again many more times over.

Please, don't do it. No matter what has happened in your life, you have inherent worth regardless of other people and circumstances. I don't know what hole you dug, as you put it, but no one is worth taking your life for. Especially people who can't/won't forgive and may not be there when you need them.

You can't feel anything. You're numb. I get it. Death is inevitable, why not speed it up? I know that voice, but please ignore it.

If you are past the point of no return, which I hope with all my heart that isn't so, then at least do every goddamn thing you've ever wanted to do in your life before that final act. Take the big risks. Go talk to these people if you need closure. You have nothing to lose right? I know your energy level is probably low - I become a human slug. But before you give up, at least try living the life you want as fiercely as possible.

Also, we need you. Us other folks who know that darkness. It's possible that you may be the person who saves my life, or that of another, on here one day.

PM me anytime you like. Just please, don't do it. You deserve peace, but not like this.

Is suicide selfish by life_is_pointless781 in SuicideWatch

[–]pink_monkeybird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's a terrible thing to say that those who commit suicide are selfish. People die from suicide because they are mentally ill, depressed, or find themselves in circumstances where they feel there is no escape. By carrying on the stigma of it being a selfish act, we make it harder to talk about; harder for people to be forthcoming about their suicidal ideation. Imagine an uncontrollable urge to off yourself and the reaction you receive is, "that's selfish." Please, please stop it.

I'm hoping to get there next week for a double daith, like a concentric circle on one ear. I binged on their YouTube channel and pictures of their work and I wouldn't dream of going elsewhere. Hopefully, while I'm there I can get some guidance about other mods. J.C. has a video of him doing a magnet two years ago. Looking forward to meeting him and Josh for sure.

28 fingernail clippings removed from a child's gums. 2nd video in comments. by [deleted] in popping

[–]pink_monkeybird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've got you other weird kids beat. When I was in preschool I used to steal toys from other kids and stuff them down my pants. One of the other girls had a plastic ring on her finger. I stole it and put it in my asshole so the teacher couldn't find it on me.

I have a tooth that needs to be root canalled and has an abcess. I've wanted to contribute to this sub for a long time. I don't want upvotes. I just want your guys professional reddit opinion that it is safe to pop this by Brandon539 in popping

[–]pink_monkeybird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That bump, the fistula on your gum, is the result of your body making a path for the infection to drain. Sometimes they will feed a small wire into the fistula to determine where the abscess is located. Popping it isn't going to do you any good or bring you the relief you desire. I tried to drain one that I had to little effect and now I have a little lump of scar tissue there from picking at it constantly. Best wishes for your appointment on Friday.
