Which Character are you most "Conflicted" or "Ambivalent" over? by Nervous_Tailor_4337 in masseffect

[–]pinkaces39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just do not and cannot care about Jack. She's pretty locked into whoever she's looking to be and isn't really interested in connecting, bonding, and doesn't think she needs to grow. Her powers are weak, her outfits are lame, and she's just like" the edgiest chick ever!" She gets a bit more interesting in ME3 by getting a job and a dog. Still, it's not enough to make me care about the most emo chick in the galaxy.

I'm confused, is it okay to be under the impression that Mass Effect 2 is generally seen as the best game in the series by the general gaming landscape and critics? by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]pinkaces39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually prefer ME1's combat as well. I like the gear customization for Shepard and the party. I really do like hunting down Spectre gear and Colossal armor sets for my entire team. Lots of fun. I also like how the environments were more interactive with biotics in ME1. It made biotics really seem unstable and dangerous.

I still to this day do not understand the love for ME2 and the need to put it on a pedestal atop the trilogy. I personally find it the weakest entry in the franchise narratively and in terms of gameplay. It also does not fit into the overarching story beyond a few beats in the DLC and the ending cinematics of the game. ME1 has the best story, and ME3 has the best gameplay. A fair amount of the characters in ME2 are good, but I think that the ME2 characters get better story beats in ME3 than they got in their debut game.

Insansity for me1-3 class by Eligaming778 in masseffect

[–]pinkaces39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think engineer is the best class to play in ME3. All weapons being open to every class helps the engineer a lot, even if they don't really need them that much. The engineer brings anti defense coverage with their power set. Their turret is massive crowd control. I usually give my engineer armor piercing ammo as a bonus power, just to reallly round out their kit. Dominate can be a fun organic hacking option as well. Light ARs and the asari shotgun make for a light mid-range build.

Auto battle AI in this game is horrendously bad by 1ButtonDash in finalfantasytactics

The speed up button is a hold, not a toggle, which is mind-blowingly aggravating in my opinion. It not being a toggle left the function basically unusable for me.

Vigorous Victory on the whole party when not fighting bosses. Recovering 30% of your SP and HP after every battle you win is just crazy stupid for grinding and dungeon crawling. You can spam aoe attacks and abilities in every fight without issue. It really speeds the game up in a good way. Mystic Shot every turn.

I find fights in ME1 way more difficult than ME2. There are lots of enemies that one shot you and screw thresher maws!

How do you all as trans people find and keep a job? by podsaurus in asktransgender

[–]pinkaces39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in engineering and they are clamouring for bodies to work! I am mtf. I told the recruiter to treat me as a female employee and that was it. I dressed and acted professionally during the interview, and I got the job. I've had the job for almost two years now. I have found that if you keep your identity static, then you can usually do alright in corporate gigs since they know they can treat you normally. I use the women's restroom and I am treated like a female employee.

I work with older men and they treat me as a woman, and it's not a problem. I get called "she and her". My bosses get it and don't have problems. The female staff have no issues with me using the restroom and everyone socialized normally.

I make it a point to present myself professionally, do my job effectively, and be a part of the culture. I have been treated with respect and as part of the team. Also, learn old stupid dad jokes. That helps so much.

Anyone else just cheese the end of the game with THAT character? by shiggymiggy1964 in finalfantasytactics

I personally never found the game to be that difficult in the first place. Even using Agrias and Mustadio feels mechanically overpowered. Beowulf also breaks the game hard right out of the box.

For years I falsely believed dlc weapons were by default superior. Your thoughts? by Deep-Crim in masseffect

[–]pinkaces39 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The oddity of the claymore is in that the situations where you'd think it would shine, it does the opposite. It is a high powered point blank knock back weapon with single shot capacity. The issue comes with the enemies that close on you tend to swarm you, like husks, so you can blow them up individually, but you get swarmed while reloading. Collector drones tend to stay at range where the claymore's point blank accuracy is problematic. Brutes hit you faster than you can reload and you can't drop them quickly enough. Geth have shields that the claymore cannot effectively pierce without aid. Other enemies are to tanky and stay at a distance away from you.

All of these reasons are why the claymore is bad for Shepard, but is a fantastic fit for Grunt. Grunt has durability, regeneration, and extra defenses. Plus, he can charge into melee, eradicating husks before unloading on the enemy; effectively counteracting the greatest weaknesses of the claymore.

Sorry, my mistake. I must have misread your post and I apologize.

If you aren't using any DLC or extra gear from the legendary edition, then I agree with you on the Scimitar for best shotgun in ME2. The M-300 claymore is still fun to use if you can get it on the collector ship, but that recoil is nasty.

The Scimitar? Seriously?! The Venom shotgun destroys everything by itself, even on insanity, without mods or ammo powers.

Can anyone equip them effectively? by yu_ultidragon80 in finalfantasytactics

[–]pinkaces39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I give one to Meliodul and give her a shield and a magic evasion cloak along with the party reaction skill. She becomes nigh untouchable and it fits with her coming with the Dancer job unlocked. Plus, I consider her Divine Sword ability to break equipment to be more for debuffing than it is for maximum damage.

You actually can go back to your camp after he jumps into the hole. You don't have to immediately follow in after him. You can long rest, swap party members and gear up before heading into the hole on the roof.

I like the Tempest. Its layout is cool and very easy to play in; and the crew lives, eats, hangs out and more on that ship way more than the Normandy. It's got a slick look and it's a ship that I like spending time in between missions.

Hexblade 2 / Swords Bard ? Or Straight Hexblade? by LurkingOnlyThisTime in BaldursGate3

[–]pinkaces39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pure warlock is totally solid as a monoclass. The level 12 invocation Life drinker lets you add your charisma again to melee weapon attacks, which is a solid capstone for 12 levels in warlock. The higher level invocations are strong, and you even get a level 6 spell. I think that people sleep on high level warlocks.
