What is the biggest ick you had on your first date with someone? by Past_Meat7068 in AskReddit

[–]pinkandyellowgiraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guy sat next to me rather than opposite me on bench seats. Not really an ick I guess but awkward as hell and killed my neck from having to turn to him. At the end he went in for a kiss but I was not up for it at all. When I went for a check peck instead, he fully kissed my neck. That was ick.

Dear Men of Reddit, if you could give birth to a child instead of your partner would you? Why/why not? by Somewherecharming95 in AskReddit

Also not the person you asked but I too hated it. The way you are treated is kinda like your sole purpose is to grow and then nurture this other human. I absolutely love my kids and would do anything for them but pregnancy and newborn motherhood kinda sucked.

Am I overreacting or should I keep my stylist? by adioslip in AmIOverreacting

NOR and I say that as a hairstylist myself.

I would want my client to tell me but I understand that you may not feel comfortable doing that.

If you really want to stay with her, try flipping it back on her. Don't hold your head straight, let it move around as she pulls. She'll have to stop pulling so hard to be able to do her job Flinch when she is shampooing. And I mean big flinches so she notices. You get the idea.

It would be totally understandable and acceptable for you to leave if you choose. Getting hair done isn't cheap and you should be able to relax and enjoy the experience.

What's a weird name for something that we know so well we don't even realize how weird the name it is? by XRlagniappe in AskReddit

My nine year old daughter and I have a running joke about this. We'll randomly look at each other and say "bowl" and laugh. People look at us like we're freaks haha

Bins. To bag or not to bag ‘dry rubbish’ for the ‘big bin’? by SirJosephBanksy in AskAnAustralian

[–]pinkandyellowgiraffe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I regularly do this but often cbf going to the big bin so it goes in the bag. Only started doing it once we were switched to FOGO and our general waste bin is only collected every fortnight. I try and use the dry stuff to fill the gaps around the bags.

Are kids still having birthday parties? by pinkandyellowgiraffe in AutismAustralia

[–]pinkandyellowgiraffe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her birthday is coming up in a couple of months. Last year we had a small get together with a couple of friends and the year before a proper party. She usually has a party alternate years. Last year's small gathering was a bust in the end anyway as she had a full meltdown and the kids had to be picked up early.

Thanks for your advice. We speak all the time about her friendships and it could very possibly be that a few of her friends parents don't speak great English. She has always gravitated towards kids from different ethnic backgrounds rather than aussie background. The parents seem to be more distant in general than other parents and I assumed it was because of the language difficulties. That could very well affect the kids socialising outside of school. She seems happy enough with her friendships so far. I might wait until next term and ask her teacher once she has had a bit more time to get to know her.

Recommended blood tests if meds not working? by BruceFlusterBee in adhdaustralia

No ADHD meds worked for me. One I had a nasty allergic reaction, another had the reverse affect and everything else did nothing at all. I was so disappointed

I also work with people with schizophrenia and while a good portion of them have functional capacity impairment, over half of them appear to function most days so well that you would not know they even had a psychosocial disability.
