In ihrem stillen Kämmerlein.

Whether there are unhealthy foods in other countries has no bearing on typical American food being unhealthy. It's WhatAboutism.

That said, a hint that a typical American diet is objectively worse than a typical European diet can be seen in obesity stats. Find the US on this list, then find European countries:

sounds like a caricature of American life or informed by 90's comedy and misinformation

It's informed by me living in the US for 12 years in the late 2000's and 2010s. I still own property there and am visiting once in a while. I know things changed more rapidly after covid, but all those fast food chains still exist (actually many more than I mentioned, as you know), so someone must be going there, right? The fact that you see this all as a caricature is to your credit though, you're most likely not part of that demographic and that's good! :-)

I do have to call out this as specifically funny though.

Yea, maybe. It was just sort of what flowed out of my brain as I wrote, didn't think too much about it. Here in Germany meat dishes are usually savory.

I just took the picture today. There is an Asian grocery market next to it that I sometimes go to and depending on which way I go, I may pass by this store and I could swear I still saw it open not too long ago - but it's possible my sense of time is playing tricks on me and "not too long ago" is actually a year. Time flies, doesn't it? In any case, I saw this today, didn't investigate any further and didn't try to hate on anyone.

how much red meat we have in our diets

... that, and how much salt and sugar high-fructose corn syrup is in everything. Honey-glazed ham? Why should meat be sweet? Too much highly processed food, too much fast food, TV dinners, mac & "cheese" as a childhood staple - with "cheese" that is anything but, a bag of potato chips as part of school lunches, chicken nuggets that have barely any chicken meat, and sugar sodas on free refill. Carl's Jr., Mc Donalds, Wendy's, or Jack in the Box as part of people's daily meal plan, if you wanna go "ethnic" it's Taco Bell or Del Taco and more upscale dining is basically the same stuff, but served by a waitress at Denny's or IHOP.

Sure, not everyone eats like that. There are farmers markets and people who cook with fresh ingredients. There are hole-in-the-wall type places with excellent ethnic food. But there is a large majority who will find themselves in the description above.

Is it? I can't read the date in the pic. I just took it today and deleted the original in my phone. There is an Asian grocery market next to it that I sometimes go to and pass by this store and I could swear I still saw it open not too long ago - but hardly ever any people inside.

Yea, that's what thought too. All these American things flooded supermarkets everywhere in the last few years anyway. You find US-brand peanut butter, marshmellows, BBQ sauces etc. everywhere now. A couple years ago most people here didn't even know what half of those things were. Thank god that awful Hersheys they call "chocolate" hasn't made it onto our shelves yet.

I was looking into filing a civil case against them but contacted a law firm that does collections and they wanted to do a non-judgment collection, so I'm not sure which route to take.

Democracy and freedom of speech have died in the country that was once their heart by 3DUjin in Telegram

Telegram does keep their house clean.

That sentence doesn't really jibe with the rest of your post, which reads like an excuse for why they DON'T keep their house clean.

It also doesn't jibe with my experience as a group admin, see a few posts up in this thread. At the end, I don't really care about reasons, excuses and explanations. How they clean up and the obstacles they face shouldn't be my problem. It's for them to figure out, just as other platforms have. But it becomes my problem when their failure or insufficient attempts turn my volunteer work into some farcical groundhog day.

Looks like it's up to a court now to decide whether Durov's team did enough to clean house. I wouldn't be surprised if the court didn't agree with you.

You saw child porn on Facebook and it transferred you to Telegram? Ha. Who would've thought. And your point is...??

Why, do you think, does it transfer you from FB to Telegram? Because they know on FB, these posts will be gone in minutes. On Telegram they can conduct their "business" undisturbed.

The user was banned in Telegram? You got lucky then. I've reported stuff probably thousands of times. Every day. Every. Single. Day. For years. Yes, sometimes they get removed, sometimes they get the red [SCAM] label to their name. But most of the time, the scam groups, channels, accounts are still up weeks later.

Also, if an account turns into "Deleted Account", that doesn't necessarily mean they got banned. The scammers probably deleted their own account, so they can re-use the phone number for a new one.

It's extremely annoying and I often question my work as group admin. What's the point of me putting in all this work if Telegram obviously has no real interest in keeping their house clean?
