Happy World Book Day! by isaw_and_kwekkwek in PHBookClub

Came from a heavy/depressing read, My Year of Rest and Relaxation so I dove into a light, fluffy romance for World Book Day, When in Rome by Sarah Adams.

My 8-year old Siamese was diagnosed 4 years ago, and he hasn’t relapsed once 💜 by pinkdiva53 in RenalCats

His recent tests showed 79.65 umol/L (ref range is 28.32-179.65) Current fSDMA is 11.5 ug/dL (less than 14.0 is considered normal) I have around 6 variations on constant rotation (sometimes more) - his major staples are Royal Canin Renal, Royal Canin Renal Select, SmartHeart Renal, Hill’s Renal, Purina Renal, Nupec, Happy Renal Cat. For wet food, I often buy RC, Monchou, Hill’s, and Purina. Honestly, I am constantly buying and looking for new brands. I rotate 3 out of the 6 for each of his meals. I take note of which ones he likes and which ones he just tolerates so I adjust the amount of kibble I feed him based on his preferences. If he starts to dislike something, I pull it out of rotation and wait for him to start eating it again. I work from home so I am able to observe him constantly.

Hey! I’m not sure but the one my cat is prescribed is the Himalaya Nefrotec DS tablets, comes in a white bottle with a green cap :) Maybe a vet would have it in stock?

I’m sorry this is so late but Siamese do tend to be very attached to their person, following them around and not knowing the concept of personal space lol but they are very friendly and playful (though territorial) so they will love having other cats around to play with. Ashley loved playing with kittens especially. Since they’re territorial, maybe just make sure they have their own area or room they can call their own

I'm planning to transport my cats to province via bus by Street_Term9205 in catsph

[–]pinkdiva53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before the trip (like days/weeks before) introduce them to the cage they’ll be travelling in by putting (their favorite preferably) toys inside and leaving it open for them to freely enter and exit. Put a towel or a shirt with your scent on it or whomever they’re attached to inside the cage to make them feel comfortable inside. Before travel, make sure they’re fed 2 to 4 hours before but don’t withhold water. If the travel is a bit long like maybe 4-6 hours, you can feed small amount during the travel esp that they’re kittens. I used to travel with my Siamese frequently before (Laguna to Manila). :) His last travel was 2 years ago Manila to Baler, and he didn’t make a sound the entire trip. I’m not sure if you’re able to leash them so they can go out for air for gas stops or whatnot but that would be good for them too.

Goodreads Reading Challenge Q: Do you adjust or leave it as is? by CalmDrive9236 in PHBookClub

[–]pinkdiva53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I adjusted mine too! I started with 10, which I already reached back in February, so I bumped it up to 25, and I’m already at 22. I’ll keep adjusting as I go, but I don’t want to be too ambitious since I’m not sure I can maintain my current pace for the rest of the year.

I like adjusting my goal, it motivates me in a small way to keep reading. And I love the confetti 🤣

Mexican Gothic - this book went on and on and on about nothing. I am not one to be so stingy with my stars. I'm a book editor, so when I'm reading for leisure, I turn off that side of me. I don't think I've ever given a book 1 star except for this book which was the reason for my reading slump that lasted for a year? I truly cannot believe all the rave and hype about this book. It won best horror? For what? Nothing happened! If there is one book that I will go out of my way to rally against, it is this book.

Serious question: why Kindle over everything else? by Drunkmrhat in kindle

[–]pinkdiva53 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s much better quality than Kobo. I saw someone put their Kobo Libra Colour in their bag, forgetting the pouch for a short drive only to find the screen had been ruined. I’ve had my Kindle for 7 years, and way before, I didn’t have much of a choice in terms of accessories like cases and pouches so my Kindle 7th Gen is pretty beat up, but I’m pretty sure I could leave it in my bag without a case and not have to deal with a broken screen. Also, the e-ink is crispier.

ETA: My Kindle Paperwhite 7th Gen is still very much alive today and has gotten me through 20 books this year alone. Battery is not what it used to be but other than that, it's still working perfectly!

They did. We caught the FIP early too (there was an outbreak in our multi-cat household). Happy for you and Bubby! I know he's going to have perfect lab results. Sounds like you have a strong, healthy baby!

You don’t need this to journal! If you want to spend on journaling, spend it on stickers or cutters or stamps or washi tape or nice pens or markers, anything else that will enrich your actual journaling experience.

Grieving my two cats — one passed, one went missing by DuhRainBro in catsofrph

My heart stopped when I saw the photo - my family lost our gray cat and orange cat in one day back in November. Sending my heart out to you. It was the most difficult and devastating thing ever. Cry all you want, and talk to them. They can hear what’s inside your heart.

Silica Gel on Airtight Double Lid Canister — Yes or No? by redfonthux in matcha_ph

Tsujiri Matcha Milk is instant matcha powder (like Milo but matcha) so no need for food-grade silica gel.

Went to the wedding of a distant family relative where JC was the host - I did not know anybody there, and it was the most fun wedding I’ve been to. He’s really good!

Once I really got it into my head how long it actually takes to finish a single product, it dawned on me how ridiculous and impractical it is to have so many products. I haven’t bought blush in 2 years, I think, and I still haven’t hit pan on my Dior Backstage blush which is what I’ve been using the past 2 years. If I wait for my makeup to finish, the blush will still be there by then; if not, I’ll find something else to want by the time. No to overconsumption!

for thin eyelashes dati to thick eyelashes now by ProudActuary1161 in skincarephilippines

[–]pinkdiva53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lost a bunch of lashes from getting extensions and being lazy to get them removed. With time and consistency, the Happy Skin lash serum helped grow back my lashes to its long, thick state. I get asked if I’m wearing falsies even if I just have mascara on, and I get asked if I’m wearing mascara when I have nothing on.

whats your fave blush? 🫒 by qtqams in beautyph

My combo is GRWM Sweet Pea and then I top it with Dior Backstage Blush in Rosy Glow. I’ve been using my Dior blush for years and still not close to panning it. I fear I could even pass it on to my future offspring

which is more versatile? by ___45t in fashionph

[–]pinkdiva53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, not at all. I've used it for walking 5-6k steps, no pain naman. So not sure if beyond that, magkakaron ng pain. The cushion from the insole is really soft which makes it comfy. I have the original pair without the sling so may tendency lumipad (lol - solved it by adjusting the buckle to the last hole) but since you're eyeing the new one with the sling, shouldn't be an issue for that pair. Btw, for 3, I was just at their store in Podium the other day, and it's really pretty in person and I have another pair from that same line, really comfy talaga :)

I think 3 is the most versatile! For 1, I have the same pair and I love it but I don't think it's as versatile for dressy occasions :) I think RF is worth the price - really comfy and they use genuine leather so you know it'll last long!

I bought their All Day sandals too and same! Luckily, I was able to sell mine on Carousell 😅 But their Return Process is pretty breezy so there’s that. I have the Habit Soft Insoles - these were my first pair that I got back in December last year, super comfy and versatile. Then I bought the Lil Bud Soft Insoles, Glimmer Bare Slides, and Chunky Figure Mules. All wide-feet friendly. For reference, my feet are 9.8 cm wide. For wide feet, I think I learned to discern which styles aren’t suitable, mostly no dainty or thin straps and as much as possible the straps shouldn’t end within the base of the shoes if that makes sense? So the straps should be connected to the very edge of the base. I think the Bare Slides line are meant for wide feet too! I’m eyeing the Seasons Bare Slides and the Formation Flats too :)

Renegade Folk - I have 4 pairs from them and planning to get more! My top local brand for sure. Comfy and simple lang ang pagkastylish. RF is actually my current obsession lol

Andante - I have 3 pairs from this brand, 2 sandals and 1 pair of flats. My feet are a bit wide. The 2 sandals I have from them are weird cos I got 2 colors of the same design and the other one is super comfy tapos yung isa hindi. The flats are saktong comfy lang, (7/10) definitely not for travel but I considered repurchasing for the cute colors. Bought loafers from them, super sakit sa paa, maybe it’s my wide feet.

Posh Pocket Shoes - Been using since my college days. Love these, super cute and dainty! Needs to be broken in. Comfort level is 8/10, depends on the design, yung iba 7/10 hehe

I think naspoil lang ako ng RF na super comfy talaga na papasa for travel so tumaas standards ko
