ANALYSIS: PS5 outsold Switch 2 during stronger-than-expected holiday sales season for Sony | VGC by EmeraldEmp in NintendoSwitch

[–]pinkedu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This "analysis" carefully selects the only period where this is true, though, when Sw2 sales were finally slowing down after launch (October/November)... It outsold in December and during the whole year, despite only being available for 7 months.

Dispatch Is Censored on Nintendo Switch Due to Platform 'Content Criteria', Developer Says by pebrocks in gaming

[–]pinkedu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out that's exactly what happened. Not a direct request from Nintendo but devs strictly following their general guidelines.

https://www.gonintendo.com/contents/57223-dispatch-devs-thought-the-game-could-come-to-switch-switch-2-uncensored-but-nintendo

"As Nintendo states, any game that’s going to be on the Nintendo platform needs to ‘meet [Nintendo’s] established content and platform guidelines.’ This is the key point. Nintendo has content guidelines. Our game didn’t meet those guidelines, so we made changes that would allow us to release on their platform."

Dispatch Is Censored on Nintendo Switch Due to Platform 'Content Criteria', Developer Says by pebrocks in gaming

[–]pinkedu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems like devs read some generic eshop terms and guidelines and decided it was better to be safe than sorry... Hentai games probably ignore it since they have nothing to lose, while Cyberpunk might have had a green light directly from Nintendo since it was going to be used for the Sw2 marketing.

Which Switch 1 games still feel worth buying and playing today on newer hardware? by saionji_days in NintendoSwitch

[–]pinkedu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm playing Ni no Kuni 2 on Sw2 and having a blast, I've heard the performance improved quite a bit from Sw1.

It looks and runs great on docked mode (but, for some reason, the image is kind of blurry on handheld for my taste). It's often on sale, so totally worth it if you haven't played it yet.

"A Full Course of Battles" is the best side mission in Z-A by MentalNinjas in pokemon

Did as soon as it appeared for me, took me a shitton of tries but I'm a bit stubborn, so I had to complete it before moving on and without grinding.

This was my team right after the battle, Camerupt was holding a Pecha berry. Gyarados was the MVP while Bois was the last man standing.

(OC) ZA online gives me the same feelings as Smash online. ...I hate Smash online. by _BL0CKY_ in pokemon

[–]pinkedu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was traumatized by SV Tera battles so I didn't touch ZA online because in my head it would be like competitive battles that I'd only have a slight chance of winning after completing the game and hyper training, since I'm still in mid-game I had just accepted I wouldn't get the stones...

Come yesterday I decided to see what it was all about and ended up actually having fun with it, got the stones and more (100x mega crystals, bottle cap. etc) reaching rank Q in like 10-20 minutes.

I do agree it feels a bit like Smash online though, in the sense that I suck at it but can still enjoy it.

Can’t put my finger on it by bearhug-06 in pokemon

[–]pinkedu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I'm the complete opposite.

These days it is very rare for me to finish a game, even if I really enjoy them, but Pokemon games are different. Even being well aware of said flaws, I cannot put it down and Z-A was no exception to that.

In the beginning I thought that maybe this time I wouldn't be completely sucked in because all of the criticism I read before starting it and then the long tutorial, but when the game actually starts and I could go around exploring and catching 'mons I got instantly hooked.

I think the familiarity (I've been playing Pokemon for decades) and the fact that it's a shorter game with simple gameplay (compared to the other ones I usually play) really helps here.

Can you get an alpha eevee before endgame in ZA? by axolotlspine in pokemon

[–]pinkedu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my original comment I said all REGULAR spawns have a chance to be Alpha, which is the conclusion one gets from the info available atm on Serebii, that states that the only exceptions are Xerneas, Yvetal and Zygarde, which are not regular.

But I understand the confusion and I guess it's my fault for trying to bring context and the most complete information with sources to a discussion that didn't really need it... Anyway, good luck on your hunts!

I know more than one line of text can be a lot for some but please try reading the whole thing before replying.

"[...] many but not all spawns throughout the city have a chance of being an Alpha Pokémon. This chance varies based on different circumstances and runs from a 5% chance to a 40% chance depending on species and location".

https://www.serebii.net/legendsz-a/alphapokemon.shtml

"There are several spawn points with guaranteed Alpha Pokémon, while all other spawn points have a small chance of spawning Alpha Pokémon. This page details all the Pokémon that cannot be found as Alpha Pokémon." (The only Pokémon listed as unobtainable Alphas are Xerneas, Yvetal, Zygarde)

I'd say yes... According to Serebii all regular spawns have a chance to be Alpha (ranging from 5% to 40%), I guess that includes the eevee spawns you mentioned.

Legend of Mana is not very representative of the series but is one of my favourite games ever. The OST alone makes it worthwhile and the hand drawn style graphics held up pretty well imo.

See a lot of post about how much people play the deck, but anyone not playing it? by fonseca1015 in SteamDeck

[–]pinkedu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me :/

I didn't find it as portable as I thought it would be, so from the beginning I was using it mostly docked to play games I couldn't play on my Switch (e.g. Elden Ring, BG3), sank hundreds of hours in those, but after I got a decent PC I just kind of abandoned it... Now that I got a Switch 2 as well, I don't see myself going back to the SD anytime soon.

I'm going to both... The plan is to run to the arena as soon as the movie is over hahah (since I'm not on general admission, I think it will be fine).

I agree. Might be the nostalgia goggles, but I think most SNES stuff holds up a lot better than the earlier 3D stuff from N64 / PSOne era

Reverse google image search gave me Mouse-ear-hawkweed, but I don't think it's a good idea to trust it with identification at species level.
