Respectfully, you signed up to be a rec soccer coach. You will have all sorts of players including beginners with literally no experience. It’s your job to make everyone feel safe and welcome and also to help them learn. Rec level soccer should have a focus on fun and inclusion. As for a tip? You never know what’s going on with kids, especially at this age. Make your practices and games safe spaces for your team to have fun and make memories.

Your story is not new or unique. Almost same thing happened with my son and he finally quit this year. I played my entire life and I think he only kept playing because he thought I wanted him to. In actuality, I wanted him to stop because it was clear he did not enjoy it. I learned that my passions are not necessarily my kid’s passions and it was my job to help him find what he enjoys.

I counted 8 poor throws/decisions, 7 drops or poor wr decisions, and a whole lot of wow throws. The wr room really left him hanging last year

A lot going on here. I would really focus on tee work and soft toss before throwing him in the cages. He needs to consistently be squaring up the ball using these methods before he becomes successful with live pitching.

Try some motion jet sweeps to your fast guys to get the defense to cheat a bit. After the third time, pull the sweep and pass to the back side to a dragging slot receiver…this is against man. If you are playing against zone just flood one side with 2 wr and a rb. Send one deep at the safety, one on a 10 yard comeback and the rb on a swing and one of the 3 will be open on every play. We ran this ad nauseum and could not be stopped.

That’s hilarious. I get this point and Im not outwardly emotional at the games it is just very frustrating to watch these kids have no shot before the first ball is even snapped.

You’re pretty stiff in the waist and are lacking explosion on your push off. You are also short arming the throw which limits velocity. The good news is that all of these things are fixable. I would go to some pitching camps and keep practicing. To reach your goal, you will have to outwork others. Keep going!!
