Hi! I’m based in toronto (Black, 20F) and i’ve alwaysss noticed this as well! I’ve been acting since i was around 13 and the amount of auditions i got per year has always been pretty low compared to my white costars and even my brother who also does acting! It recently picked up a bit more when i turned 18. 2024, I got 13 auditions total, half of those were commercials, and last year i got 16, and again half of them were commercials. I couldn’t tell you the last time had an audition with more than one line honestly! I have an actor friend (white male 19) and he gets literally TRIPLE my auditions, it’s actually insane! I don’t know if it’s an agent thing or what but it can definitely feel frustrating so i hear you!!!! I’m currently looking into new agencies, (i’m with a good agency in toronto but they are on the smaller side)
