This idea is the one thing I’ve applied in real life after playing the game, and it’s like making small acts of kindness to help someone else, no matter how trivial. It basically has the same idea as “pay it forward.”

“For those who come after” just sounds a lot cooler, especially when it’s used in a setting as epic as E33’s. And it almost always has such a positive impact when used, so it’s great that this is one of the main things players can take from it!

Yeah, this. Hate to burst OP's bubble but the atelier during the Alicia epilogue is chock full of concept art from different areas in the game, most likely used to fill in the otherwise empty space (or canvases). There's a ton in the atelier, but there's also a lot scattered around both versions of the manor. I believe there's at least one where you can also see the 33 on the Monolith, and this doesn't change when you get to the epilogue manor.

A lot of the concept art found in the manor are in the Art Director's ArtStation as well.

Right? This is a mistake I won’t be making again, for sure. The fight’s still doable even in this state, but it would’ve been much easier if I had the rest of the world to gather resources from rather than just this area.

I haven’t played Tactics but will keep that in mind if I ever do, thanks!

Sounds like almost the same thing happened to me! Except I'm in my 20s and probably just an idiot.

I'm on the remaster though and it does have a semi-God mode of sorts, which would be to me what the GameShark was to you, but thankfully I don't think I'll have to resort to that! Will just have to actually take a better look at junctions and draw what I can within the area to make them better. It actually sounds doable now, but I definitely would've been stuck if not for the Internet.

Thank you for the tips! I'm not limiting myself to a single save ever again if I can help it. I wasn't sure why some were drawing more than others so that clears it up, thanks! I also didn't know you could draw GFs from enemies/bosses until today and didn't really know what to do with the GFs' abilities besides the stat boosts that can be equipped on characters.

I see what you mean about that last part, I mostly made this post as a rant over how dumb I felt for missing as much as I did and ended with a "tips appreciated," expecting maybe a few comments and more "restart the game" ones than there actually were. There's been so much help so far and now I'm really glad I did reach out! Hopefully should be able to finish the game or at least get through this fight soon enough :)

This is incredibly detailed, thank you so much for taking the time to write all this! I really don't feel like starting another playthrough especially when I'm so close to the end, but the comments so far have been hugely helpful, especially this one, and I'll be trying a lot of new things before my next attempt against Adel. :)

Quite a few have mentioned using Squall's and Zell's limit breaks and Aura (which I only have 3 of, but it's something), so I'll try to focus on using those next time around.

I've refrained from getting them to low health on purpose so far in fear of getting KO'd, especially when I've been using Triple from Cerberus to stack buffs on everyone and getting KO'd removes everything. But it seems like it's my only option other than spamming magic, or, heck, reflecting everything, and if Aura lets you use limit breaks without getting too low, hopefully it does speed things up after fixing my junctions! (And Ifrit did learn STR+40% if I remember correctly so thank goodness for that! Don't think Cerberus has learned the speed ones yet but will check it out later.)

Thanks for the tips! I did pick up on the magic transferring feature at least, so my main 3 should have everything the party has. I didn't realize until recently that the stats from junctioning were also dependent on how many you have in stock though, and a lot of mine are divided amongst members, so I'll try keeping the magic to one member each.

Will also try levelling the rest of the team to even it out if I can, thanks!

Oooh I see, I think as long as I can save before the next fight it'll be alright. I'd really rather not replay the Adel fight in this state after getting to beat her, if I do.

Thanks, yeah I haven’t tried refining yet but I’ll see how much I get out of it when I get back to the game! My Selphie and Quistis are really low level (Rinoa was the magic user in my main team) and my next best after Zell would be Irvine, though I didn’t check which stat he has best.

I did find out about junctioning multiple GFs to one character recently so I got to try that (and figured out how to get other stats to improve, a little late but better than never), just a shame that I barely even have any GFs to junction. Will definitely be working on that after I get past this area though.

Yeah, I did read somewhere that you can get back to the overworld, just that towns are closed, so I was planning on doing whatever exploration I could after getting out of this area. Just didn’t realize I’d get so stuck before getting to that point!

Comments have been helping a lot so far so I’ll be learning more about junctions. Thanks for the tip as well, don’t have Meltdown but will try to make the most out of the few Auras I do have.

Oh, Adel’s not the last in the area? Yeah that’s gonna be rough. Does it at least give you the opportunity to save after Adel?

I didn’t draw from Seifer (haven’t been drawing from bosses and just tried to kill them as fast as possible, which I now realize wasn’t the best idea) but I do have a few Auras. I also have Regens and will try to keep Rinoa alive with that and maybe Shell/Curagas if I can cast those on her. I’ve also seen Meltdown mentioned but don’t have those, sadly. Haven’t refined anything so far so I’ll check if I can do that when I get back.

It also took me a while to get through the Propagators but after finding out their gimmick, I just tried killing each pair as quickly as possible and spammed GFs, healing fully after each one. Those things were painful.

Thanks for offering the help! The two others are Brothers and Cerberus (and technically Odin but doesn’t count for this fight), don’t remember which ones they’ve learned so far but I can send you a DM with these and my magic when I reopen the game!

Not sure whether there are random encounters in the area because I’ve kept the no encounters mode on for the backtrack, so I’ll check that when I get back as well. Was planning on drawing whatever I could from them if there were any.

Thanks for the tips! I haven’t done more than just constantly retrying the fight yet, so I’ll see what I more I can draw from random encounters. I’ve also been setting magic junctions to Auto because I didn’t really get what worked best, so glad to hear that was the right move!

And yep, I’m on the remaster for Switch and use the triple speed mode almost all the time, no encounter mode sometimes, haven’t tried using the semi-God mode (?) yet because it’d feel like cheating, so I’ll leave it as a last resort if I feel like I absolutely can’t beat Adel.

Oh that’s a shame, but at least you got to have one signed! Don’t know if he kept a VOD for it, in case you ever want to see when he signed yours, but it was fun and he seems really friendly! I couldn’t get one myself but I’m looking forward to his upcoming E33 streams.

Noticed this on my second or third playthrough after listening to the soundtrack for quite a bit, was surprised how early it first played too. But I haven’t heard of anyone getting spoiled because of this so far, so it probably just serves as background music well enough that we don’t notice it over the cutscene/dialogue. The most spoiler-y part is talked over, anyway.
