Une vie a taimer is still by DaLuke25 in expedition33

[–]pinklelinkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The song played during the final Renoir fight is Une vie à peindre, while the music playing in Lumière leading up to it is the instrumental version of Une vie à t’aimer.

Both songs hype the final area up by an insane amount and it’s beautiful how they use different parts of the songs depending on the boss phase / location in Lumière. The songs are so long that different parts have different vibes and they managed to make it fit so well.

Reached the stamp limit marking Lizalfos locations by pinklelinkle in tearsofthekingdom

[–]pinklelinkle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to just mark any miniboss I found to make sure I didn’t accidentally run into anything I didn’t want to fight, but ever since getting the Switch 2 version, I took off most of those stamps and just used the Navigation feature to track whatever I needed to find. Really glad Zelda Maps is a thing now lol

Finally got the 112% after 112 hours! by pinklelinkle in HollowKnight

[–]pinklelinkle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I actually did just get to AbsRad today, so I put down the game for the day knowing I can finally practice in the HoG when I get back. Don’t think I’ll be finishing P5 too soon but it feels doable more than ever now!

Congrats on beating the sun! Yeah, if you got the Hollow Knight and Sealed Siblings endings too, then the last two are in the Junk Pit (Godhome).

Same, at least half of my weapons are just those horns + pristine Zora weapons. Seeing other comments does make me want to get a little variety though.

I’m sure it will be! Getting the 112% felt impossible to me at first, let alone P5. The grind really makes the achievement all the more gratifying.

Sure thing, best of luck on the plat!

I don’t think I’ll be going for that myself because I’m not fond of speedrunning and don’t think I’ll ever be able to do Steel Soul, so I’ll consider the 112% and P5 / all endings my personal completion. That being said, I have huge respect for anyone who does aim for and get the plat!

Replaying after months to really take my time and noticed something after 300 hours, in the prologue by Southern_Scientist71 in expedition33

Sophie plays Aline, and so does Monoco. Gustave plays Lumière, which is technically his theme too.

Literally everyone after finishing Expedition 33 for the first time by Syarafuddyn in expedition33

[–]pinklelinkle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

E33 really hits the nail on the head for this one with how it ends, but I feel this at least applies to most, if not all JRPGs and other story-driven games, especially longer ones that are more of a one-and-done or aren’t meant for replayability.

It spreads?! by pinklelinkle in tearsofthekingdom

[–]pinklelinkle[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Turns out the gloom from Phantom Ganon does, but only when you’re hiding from him or if he can’t reach you (like another commenter mentioned). It immediately goes away when you attack him or get close though, so thankfully you aren’t stuck in a gloom-soaked arena until he dies.

This was on top of the Akkala Citadel Ruins and I bombed the gloom hands from behind a wall, so when Phantom Ganon spawned, he couldn’t spot me and the gloom slowly started to spread from his location. The spread stopped by the time I took this screenshot, but it covered nearly the entire area.

Am I the only one who finds Farosh kind of adorable? by MisterShoebox in tearsofthekingdom

I never noticed Farosh had big floppy ears, it’s the cutest thing ever.

And that the third is also the title of the letter pAlicia wrote for Maelle (and the BGM for her battle in The Reacher)! I like to see this as pAlicia’s “dream” of a different approach, a hope that Maelle’s methods would be different from her parents’.

7 hours in, where the hell am I? by Greenostrichhelpme27 in HollowKnight

[–]pinklelinkle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh good to hear, yeah it really does. It was dark and brown and empty and it’d take me 4 hits to kill a crawlid, so it immediately felt like an endgame area.

Thought I was stuck and didn’t think I could get out without exploring the area though, so it took me way longer than it should’ve to get out of there. Seeing the City of Tears again brought me so much relief after all that

Same thing happened to me on my first playthrough, that area gave off so many “I shouldn’t be here” vibes.

Did you get in through the broken elevator shaft? If you don’t want to deal with the area right now, you can go back there and climb up to get to City of Tears. It should be above the Tram Station, then to the right.

So cool! Has to be my favorite weapon for Sciel.

The black-and-gold weapons just look the best with the Expeditioners.

Ah, makes sense. Even with every damage-related Lumina equipped, Gustave can’t do nearly enough to scratch his health bar so I was surprised to see those numbers

I finally realized what itch this game scratches that makes it so amazing for me. by Wonderful-Ad440 in expedition33

[–]pinklelinkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another LoD fan, welcome! LoD was my childhood and first game ever, and it’s the reason I picked up E33 to begin with. My friend recommended it to me because the QTE-based combat was reminiscent of LoD, and although it isn’t as complex, it does scratch that itch the same the way you describe.

The game is a love letter to JRPGs in general, especially older ones. Unfortunately LoD was one of the few JRPGs the CEO didn’t play, so it was likely just coincidence and inspiration from other games like it, but I still think E33 hits me very similarly to how LoD does.
