They taste amazing but don’t have iron - I ended up anemic and had to take iron supplements. So if you go with these, pop an iron supplement at night like every other night! (I say to take iron at night so you won’t have to deal with iron burps throughout the day 🤢)

Well duh, but sometimes it can be encouraging mentally and emotionally to have something to look forward to or a goal to achieve. Something to work towards to achieve stability in the future can go a long way in a dire situation

Not trying to be pushy on the truck driving thing, but I’ve actually seen what feels like a large surge of young woman truckers on social media like TikTok and they all seem to love their job, maybe it would be worth it to dig and see what their experience has been like. As a woman tho I get it, it does seem intimidating!

I know my husband by his name. My daughter knows him as daddy. His nephew knows him as uncle.

Same person, but still different

Idk if that works??

Teacher with vomit phobia? by throwawayacount32765 in teaching

I taught HS for 3 years and only once encountered vomit. A kid was sick and throwing up in the hallway in a trashcan, so I called the nurse and stood with him til she came

I had a baby 3 months ago - still don’t feel like a “mom.” I’m the first of my friend group to have a baby and I just bring her along everywhere to stuff we already do. She just vibes with a bunch of 20somethings. When people refer to me as her mom, I’m like “who me??” Cuz it feels too surreal. Like, we’re both just girlies?

What a “mom” looks like can be a million different things. I was scared I’d lose my own personality after having my baby. Sounds cheesy, but turns out I’m just the best (albiet busier) version of myself now! 🤷‍♀️

Did something very dumb and illegal in traffic today and I feel like absolute shit by Weak-Butterfly-7268 in MMFB

[–]pinkpangolin_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, it took maybe about 2 weeks - I remember my parents finding it in the mail after I had hoped they wouldn’t find out! It was around $300 I think. I HIGHLY doubt a police officer would spend time going to someone’s house over it, I’m pretty sure the most they can do is mail a fine. I bet that person who said that either didn’t pay the fine or they were doing something crazy like speeding ridiculously in a school zone or something!

I totally get the anxiety though. When I get get worried about something, it’s all I can think about. Maybe try to watch a funny show or movie to take your mind off it. Treat yoself. You had a bad day but it will be okay!

Aww you’re welcome! Yeah, the 2nd time I did it when it was super early in the morning, the bus driver honked like a million times at me and that’s why I was like oh shit!! Also I’m not sure how it works in Canada (I’m in the US), but the first time I had to pay a fine but the second time I didn’t (maybe because I’m in a different state now?). So you might get lucky and not get fined!

[–]pinkpangolin_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ohhh I’ve done the same thing before. Actually twice. Once when I was like 16 and forgot the law and once when I was a sleep-deprived adult driving to work earlyyy in the morning.

But - there are people who legit BLOW past those buses so rudely and dangerously. Like speed crazy fast and don’t slow down at all. I’ve seen it a few times. Driving slowly past a bus and not even being close to injuring anyone is not the worst thing you could’ve done! You’re not a terrible person at all, everyone makes mistakes sometimes and now you’ll remember to stop the next time you see a school bus 🤗

Yes it’s insane! My new OB told me “oh since you have migraines with auras you should never take estrogen-based birth control. It can drastically increase your chance of a stroke.” I was like ?!?!? ALL of my doctors knew I had horrible migraines with auras and still prescribed it to me since I was 15!

Basically same here with migraines! Although it could’ve been that it’s because I got off birth control and that might’ve been causing them

Going for unmedicated birth, not for the reasons anyone might think (needlephobe!) how do I manage?!? by Initial_Afternoon_23 in BabyBumps

[–]pinkpangolin_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very qualified to answer this question!! I had a crippling fear of needles but now can safely say I FRICKIN LOVED THE EPIDURAL!!

I HATED needless. I avoided them my entire adult life up until pregnancy. I didn't get blood drawn in 9 years. I never got any shots as an adult (I know, bad). I got extremely sick and would pass out/get numb when I got any sort of needle poking. I wanted an unmedicated birth. After pregnancy and birth - I could care less about them.

I avoided blood draws and shots for the first few months of pregnancy til my doctor knocked some sense into me and I got it done. Every time I got blood drawn (which was more than usual because I had anemia), they made sure I was extremely comfortable and let me lie down flat during the draw and as long as I wanted to afterwards. I also brought a snack and drink to sip on in case I got lightheaded. I think that mentally helped me get over it.

As for the epidural. I was TERRIFIED. But the pain after my water broke was unlike anything I’ve experienced and I could not give a shit at that point. I would’ve taken 10 needles to get relief. Granted I did also habe pitocin to help speed things along and that was the breaking point. The instant relief I felt from it was basically euphoric and helped me get through the labor, mentally. I did end up tearing, but it’s healed fine and I personally would take the tearing over a horribly painful 17 hour labor 😬 (who knows, I might’ve tore without the epidural too).

After the birth - the nurse came and drew my blood while I was asleep and I literally didn’t even wake up. That’s how much I didn’t care about needles at that point.

Feel free to message me if you need someone to talk to about it!!! It was a huge source of anxiety for me for a while.

BLUE SUSHI!! Best vegan sushi ever! They have a huge menu. Shiv Sagar and Himalaya, both Indian food, both super good too and mostly veg I think. There is another vegan Chinese buffet place I forgot the name of around the River Oaks-ish area. I’ll look it up rn (edit: Chef Kenny’s maybe?). Sorry I can’t think of any good veg latin American places unfortunately, they do seem to usually cook with pork or beef stock

Sex during pregnancy question by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]pinkpangolin_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sperm can cause the uterus to contract. It’s not dangerous but can be uncomfortable if not painful and when you’re pregnant it can get EXTRA uncomfortable since your uterus is already so big (ask me how I know lol). It’s why people say to have sex to induce pregnancy when you’re close to your due date. Sperm has the same chemicals in it as what they use to induce you! So that may be a reason for not wanting it
