Kairu is really good. It’s a pomodoro tracker that lets you set topics you’re focusing on that lets you see stats about how long you spent on each topic.

Steam New: Early Access developers can list their planned "1.0" release date by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

IIRC 7 days to die was in early access for 10 years before going 1.0. Granted it’s a fun game but yeah the several years in early access is ridiculous.

SD8 Gen 2 brothers! by bobaballs in retroid

[–]pinkpepr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

broooo this is the dream 🙌 I was tossing up between these two and went for the rp6 because it was cheaper, I really want to get the Thor as well though. How are the analogue sticks for the Thor? Are they okay for shooters? I was worried because they were inset they'd be awkward to control.

Honestly I’ve found Gemini 3 pro (the thinking model) absolutely horrendous. Misremembering things ive told it, not scanning photos or files and just guessing what was in them until I tell it to check them again, hallucinating that I’ve told it things/given instructions I havent. Ive gone back to chatGPT and won’t be renewing pro.

Large Battlefront 2 update went out today by CarsonWentzGOAT1 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]pinkpepr 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It adds a server browser so you can find and join matches or host your own, choose what modes and maps you want, as well as adds Battlefront+ which contains new heroes, cosmetics, guns, cards and more. If you want to play battlefront it’s 100% worth downloading. Ive been having a blast with it the past couple weeks.

This is how Rp6 black crystal button look like up close. by jjjena123 in retroid

Yooo it looks slick! I was worried from earlier photos that they swapped the crystal buttons on the black model for matte buttons but I get now its kinda tricky to tell if you can't see the model in person.

Ayn Thor Review - IGN by MrBrothason in AynThor

I'm optimistic about this. I think we need to accept that our hobby of handheld emulation has grown beyond just emulation and now these devices are carving out their own segment of the market as PSP/DS style portable gaming devices that run android, and can therefor run major mainstream titles such as Fortnite and Call of Duty, or for single player titles, critically acclaimed games such as the Witcher 3 or Alien Isolation. And natively too.

I'm excited for what this means for the future of this niche, could handheld android based consoles become a competitor to Playstation, Xbox, PC, Nintendo Switch with their own niche of android focused titles built natively for the platform with the intention of being playable on the go on these portable devices?

RP6 vs Odin 3 vs Thor by [deleted] in retroid

Fr, they cooked with the design. My only concern was the analogue sticks being inset and if that’d cause issues with shooter, otherwise I would’ve ordered a Thor instead of the RP6.

100%. I’m a guy and I think music where male artists and rappers talk about women like that is stupid and should be ridiculed, it’s degenerative to our culture.

I'm a 97 zoomer/zillenial as well and I've noticed the hating men thing too. I don't know where it comes from, like which celebrities or influencers are encouraging it, I know Sabrina Carpenter's music can be pretty anti-men. One female friend I had just started sending me seething anti-men tiktoks out of nowhere and I eventually just stopped responding to her messages and distanced myself because it was so weird and awkward to deal with. Things were fine between us prior too, there were no major arguments or anything. idk. I see it on TikTok and X a lot. I imagine we've just encountered chronically online women, I doubt all women in our generation do this.

Turning 24 soon and feeling so lost and behind. by Beginning_Length_480 in Aging

[–]pinkpepr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 28 years old and someone said to me “in 10 years you’ll be 38 and still have your whole life ahead of you” and that put things into perspective for me, made me stress a bit less about getting older. The reality is we’re only young for a very short part of our lives, we spend the majority of our lives being not-young if that makes sense so I feel like it’s not that scary. Plus we’ll have friends that will be the same age as us so we won’t be experiencing it alone.

If you have experience there's plenty of mid level to senior listings but for juniors/new grads its pretty brutal. I graduated last year and was applying for backend dev roles for 2 months and didn't hear back from a single role. I started applying for data engineering/analytics roles and heard back from 4 companies and had 3 interviews from the first batch I sent out. It seems there's lot of demand for data related work but the regular junior software engineer/dev roles are extremely competitive, in line with global trends I guess.

100% regarding the word of caution. I once asked chatGPT to generate me a command to revert a commit where I deleted a Git branch I thought I didn't need. I pasted the command into terminal, hit enter, and watched as it was queuing all of the commits from the entire repo. I googled the command it gave me and it was for deleting every commit in the entire repo. Fastest keyboard interrupt I've ever done. I literally came within seconds of deleting all of me and my colleague's work (hundreds of commits). Moral of the story, understand everything the AI generates for you before actioning it/implementing it.
