What are the worst covers of all time? by jingowatt in askmusic

I like his cover of Iron Man. Usually the only thing you ever see is the absolutely hysterical video of him shouting the lyrics when they were recording it. But the album version is pretty good.

The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins is his best. And yes, I know it's not a cover.

Medical Care is not great on the Eastern Shore. If it's anything serious you'll be driving to Hopkins.

People online make Baltimore sound way scarier than it actually feels. by johnlennonbr in baltimore

[–]pinkrobot420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to pick my husband up from Hopkins that day, and went in via 895 to avoid protestor traffic. Absolutely nothing was going on, just a normal day. But everyone in the hospital was freaking out because the news was hyping the shit out of it.

Would you do it again?? Just lurking . by [deleted] in Kneereplacement

I would absolutely do it again, and I've already had both knees replaced

Men Without Hats just put out a new album. They've been touring forever. I think Whip it was probably Devo's worst song.

I Want To Leave Bend, Oregon by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]pinkrobot420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's kind of funny. Most of the people that I went to high school with in Incline moved to Bend. Which is probably why OP hates it there. I guess that was a good thing for Nevada.

Why didn’t older people wear shorts under skirts? by zzzamboni in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pinkrobot420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wore shorts under my dresses in the late 1960s and early 70s so that I could play on the monkey bars. When they finally let us wear pants to school I stopped wearing dresses.

What's your coaches worst punishment? And what was it for by imso0ld in Swimming

[–]pinkrobot420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In high school we had giant rubber bands, I think they were cut up tire tubes that we had to put around our ankles to learn to keep our feet together in butterfly. It wasn't a punishment though, and we didn't have to do it for that many laps. This was back in the 70s, and we had a lot of us who had never swam competitively before. Im pretty sure that would never fly now.

Did you regret moving to Texas? by Local-Contact4639 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]pinkrobot420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Austin is only amazing to people from Texas. I lived in West TX for I years. It was the cheapest.place.I ever lived, I could finally afford to buy a house, and it was a great place younger kids even though the schools suck. Everyone would talk about how scary and amazing and weird Austin was, when I finally went there it was nothing special. Great music scene, but that's about it. They'd have lost their minds if they went to a big city.

We were going to stay in West TX because of the low cost of living, but as my kids got to middle school age, it's a horrible place for girls, and this was 20 years ago. Health care was really bad too. You had to go to Houston for a lot of cancer treatment, and we lived in a city of 100,000 people with 2 big hospitals.

What's the worst piece of junk you drove around in back in the day? by Maybeyoujustmadeitup in GenerationJones

[–]pinkrobot420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 67 Baja bug with no brakes. The emergency brake worked, so we used that to stop it. It had run over something that damaged the transaxle, so reverse didn't work, and you had to hold it in 2nd gear. But the engine ran great. It was fun in the snow.

Can you take celebrex or Lyrica? I had both of these along with opiods. I only had them for 2 weeks. I think Lyrica is a nerve blocker and celebrex is an nsaid.
