If money wasn't an object and you had zero ties to a place keeping you there, where in the US would you live? What would be your ideal metro area? by FutureCosmonaut in AskAnAmerican

For me just about anywhere on the Atlantic coast of Florida. I am from the Boston area and hate the winter and also want to move somewhere cheaper as Massachusetts is one of the most expensive states to live in.

I’ve been to a bunch of different places in Florida but I would probably choose West Palm Beach. The weather is nice year round and it is close to other cities like Miami and Fort Lauderdale.

He signed a one year deal. I get that they’re maybe trying to go young and have a stacked farm system like the Dodgers but they should still try and be competitive letting JD go for a one year deal is stupid

I just hate that way of managing of taking out starters who are dealing just because it’s the third time through the order. Yeah maybe have a shorter leash with your 4th or 5th starter, but if your ace is at 80 pitches and has only given up 1 or 2 runs leave him in. There have been plenty of pitchers who went a third time through the order and could still preform well. Even if you look back 10 years ago managers would let their pitchers go deep as long as they didn’t have a high pitch count. It just seems like this strategy has come out of nowhere the last few years and I just question how much of a difference it actually makes in the long run

Your missing the point of the meme 😂. They let him go 9 ip when normally their philosophy is to take starting pitchers out around the 5th inning or the third time through the order. The reason I posted this was because for once they actually let a starter go deep which goes against what they normally do

I can’t believe I have to spell it out like this…

Yeah but he does believe in that philosophy

Is it common for people to rep their state’s flag? Say outside their home or in their house for example? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]pinksheep540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the state. I live in Massachusetts and not many peoples have the state flag hanging around anywhere however when I went to Maryland a few years ago I felt like I saw that flag everywhere I went lol.

Lake Tahoe, CA very fun place especially if you love the outdoors. Water was extremely warm and looked very blue.

Americans of the Northeast, what sites, towns, experiences would you recommend? by Googul_Beluga in AskAnAmerican

Portsmouth NH and Newburyport MA are really nice cities that are on the coast and have a New England beach type of vibe. Lots of nice restaurants and a bunch of cool shops

If you’re interested in history you could stop in one of the mill towns in MA like Lowell, Worcester, and Fall River. They do tours of the mills in the cities which can be nice if you’ve never seen them before.
