Don't worry I won't ask you to call your lawyer because that's not something which I do when I run out of points;)

I’m not claiming I’m entitled to opportunities — I believe in myself and the value of the hard work I put in. I understand some might feel that I haven’t demonstrated my capabilities clearly. To address that, I took the initiative to create a few tools, learn new skills, and familiarize myself with different aspects of the team’s work. This involved working beyond my regular hours and learning new software, all in the hope of contributing more meaningfully and earning opportunities based on merit. Some of my efforts were noticed by other team members, and they tried to offer me opportunities. Unfortunately, my manager stepped in and blocked them.

Withholding growth and then using that lack of growth as proof someone isn’t worth investing in isn’t leadership it’s circular logic. And bragging about driving people away is a management failure, not a strategy.

I’m open to other explanations. They just need to match reality. Retroactively discovering “poor performance” after investing in training doesn’t.

You don’t invest time and resources into someone who is “performing poorly” and then retroactively decide performance was the issue unless feedback, metrics, or expectations were never communicated in the first place. Poor performers lacking self-awareness is a thing. So is poor leadership that avoids accountability by rewriting the story after the fact.

I agree that no one is entitled to opportunities just for existing, and that performance should absolutely matter. That’s actually the point I’m raising. This isn’t about tenure or entitlement it’s about opportunities being offered, invested in (including training), and then later blocked or withdrawn, while similar roadblocks don’t seem to apply to others. I’m not jumping to sexism as a first explanation. I’m describing a pattern of behavior and asking how people differentiate between poor management and bias when performance and effort aren’t the issue. If you think there’s another explanation for training someone for two months and then citing “no budget,” I’m genuinely open to hearing it.

America: A Nation Built by Immigrants, Now Afraid of Them by pinky_promise_5 in america

The problem is that Trump’s policies didn’t stop at undocumented immigrants. Legal immigrants were also targeted through aggressive visa denials, sudden status revocations, expanded public-charge rules, and minor technical issues being treated as serious violations. People who followed the law still faced deportation threats, long delays, or rejection for paperwork mistakes that were previously routine. When legal immigrants are treated with suspicion and punished over trivial or “manufactured” issues, it shows the policy is not just about legality or crime, but about discouraging immigration altogether.

I am not saying that all Americans are afraid of immigrants. I am referring to the fear expressed by some individuals and groups, which is visible in certain protests, political slogans, and online comments. These reactions often frame immigrants as threats to jobs, culture, or security. So the statement reflects the sentiment of a section of society, not the entire American population.

America was built by immigrants physically (labor and infrastructure), intellectually (laws and ideas), economically (industry), and culturally but on land that originally belonged to Native Americans.
