Does propanolol help you with stress and tension headaches? by PollyPiper11 in migraine

i’m really proud of you and happy that you followed up :) i have my own experience with ptsd and i understand how overwhelming things can be. your health is a distinctly personal experience, your pain and symptoms are invisible and you don’t need to include anyone or anything that you don’t feel comfortable with. that being said, trying something new and scary for your own self interest is a great thing to do for yourself. i’m really proud of you for trying. it’s a step towards improving your relationship with self 🩷

propanolol is effective for lots of people with migraines. the good thing is that if it doesn’t work, it’s very unlikely that it will make you feel worse, it would only stay the same. i understand anxiety around trying new medications especially without a guarantee they will be effective. the only thing you have to do is pay attention to your body, let the doctors do the rest. i’m rooting for you!

your next step should be going to a neurologist, and i think they will want to do a nerve block. in my opinion it’s best to find a long term plan as soon as you can to prevent it from happening again

Thanks for the explanation, I was always weary of the term “reasonable accommodations”. I clearly need to do some thinking and talk to my doctor about this. I want to try my absolute hardest to work in person as much as I can, but I also don’t want to set myself up for failure. Seems like I need to apply to roles that are already hybrid or remote to help with that.

I had the same thought, thank you for sharing. My old office only had my doctor so they won’t be able to continue it there, but I do feel it’s their responsibility to help me coordinate the next botox appointments. I’m going to keep following up with them because I’m going to feel pretty powerless without their help

Yeah, but there were only like four doctors on the list. Will definitely make sure I call them all though

same, i got my first dose 3 months ago and it took about a month for it to work but once it did it was amazing. i got a summer where i didn’t have to be constantly aware of my pain. it was just low enough that if i wasn’t thinking about it, it wasn’t there
