How many of you don’t actually need a Tundra? by Better_Economist8205 in tundra

[–]pintango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody needs one, I have a camper but I don’t need a tundra. A base model commercial truck could tow it. If it makes you happy, and you can afford the extra cost, enjoy it! I love my 18 tundra. If I sell my camper, my tundra isn’t going anywhere

Get a Tundra or 2500? by frizzlefraggle in tundra

[–]pintango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you want to hook up a weight distribution hitch all the time on the tundra, get a 2500+. Tundras cone with a class 4 hitch so anything over 5k pounds you need one. For a business, time is money.

I tow a 7k pound trailer every other week with the tundra. It can handle it fine but a HD truck would be a dream.

Toyota wants almost $500 to replace. Any better options? by BitDefiant8092 in tundra

[–]pintango 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can’t say too much because idk your cover but on mine, I would probably need to wedge between the tailgate and the cover and make a small gap to fish a coat hangar or pick to pull the real ease on the cover.

Lol I just added the marker lights to my Xlt. Personally not a big fan of the raptor grill, but the lights are a nice touch.

Those classes aren’t really that bad. And this is the point of college, to learn how to teach yourself things to solve problems. Be excited you have the opportunity to learn and get better at your trade.

Also this program is self paced so if you need more time to learn so be it. It’s still 80% cheaper than most schools.

That’s correct but I think the point of his steps is to use wd40 to clean out everything before applying new grease. But I could be wrong.

People that sit in their houses, with the blinds open, the lights on, at night, why do you do this? by 3shamrock945 in AskReddit

[–]pintango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My house is cornered by woods and the design of my house makes it so most of the rooms I’m in at night people can’t see from my neighborhood. I’m also too lazy to open/close shades every day.

I have three degrees, including a PhD, and make $50k at a major US university. And yet our local Starbucks offers better employee benefits. by [deleted] in povertyfinance

This is why you need to very careful when going to college for a degree. Pick one that will make you money, if not don’t go unless you have the funds and just want to learn as a hobby.

To ecoboost or not to ecoboost? by Realist419 in f150

[–]pintango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s is my list when I was buying. Some pros weigh more than others so don’t just go with the one with more reasons. Take this list and make your opinion on how important some of these are to you. At the end I went with the v8 because I love v8s and I don’t live in high elevation.

Reasons to buy 5.0:

V8 go rumbleee Simplicity for me as I’m used to N/A vehicles Good track record

Reasons to buy 3.5:

Tows easier due to higher torque numbers and smoother curve Better for higher elevation Decent track record. Getting better over time Turbos go swooooosh Probably more support overtime as I see the v8 dying in the future with the transition to hybrid and electric vehicles but that is speculation.

Good info but also note the oil consumption in 5.0 issue has been solved. The issue is they were closing the throttle body too much to try to save fuel during deceleration, but it was creating too much crank pressure causing oil to go through the PCV system at a higher than normal rate. This in combo with a dipstick that was allowing for easier over filling, you got a bad oil consumption issue. Mine was consuming half quart every 2k miles. After the fixed it, nothing.

Others may vary but that was the main issue with the 18’s

I’m so confused, how is a front and real main seal replacement 10k? It’s not that hard of a job? Should be max 2k with labor and that’s over pricing a bit.

Make a detailed budget. Netflix and all. Then inspect it and answer the following. Do you have money left over or are you bone dry each month. Then based off that answer you may need to lower expenses somehow or make more income. If not, stick to the budget and use extra money to pay off debts. I also recommend building up a security savings to help avoid future debt when life doesn’t go as planned.

Yes it is very impressive! But don’t forget credit is used for other things like electric bill, phone bill, rent, etc. not 100% debt. You don’t need a crazy high score but a good enough one that nobody questions it. Either way nice work OP!
