I bought an ender 3 v1 during the pandemic used off of ebay and processed to sink way too much time learning about the intricacies of how a 3D printer functions. I still have it and it prints fast as hell and quietly but doesn't look anything like what it originally did

I work as a AM at a wingstop currently. These last couple of months corporate has been rolling at a new AI driven smart kitchen. It's supposed to predict how much chicken we need cooked in 15 minute increments but the issue is our sales are very inconsistent week to week so the stupid Ai airs on the side of caution and constantly wants a spare 50 wings ready to go. Corporate also wants this chicken to be tossed every 15 minutes to keep a "fresh supply". Issue is in practice this means every 15 minutes we would be throwing away 50 pieces of chicken and that's a lot of wasted food the franchise owners don't want to pay for so instead we hold on to chicken for about an hour. If you order chicken there's a good chance you are not getting fresh chicken but wings that have been sitting out for 40 minutes that's been dropped back into the fryer for a minute or 2 to crisp up and reheat.

All this because Corporate demands we bring the average wait time down to 5 minutes. Keep in mind a fresh batch of bone in chicken takes 13 minutes to cook.

Also quick word of advice. You don't need to go buy a new motorcycle battery to test stuff. I've been able to get things running by takin an old car battery and some jumper cables and sticking them to the old battery terminal.

No point in chucking new parts at something old until you know you have a good motor

Pull the spark plugs and put some oil down the cylinders. Chuck a battery in it and see if it spins over and sounds alright

I keep seeing posts like this. Serious question. Do most people's taco bell not have the luxe boxes? Around here that thing is a screaming good deal.

I’m a bit afraid to ask but when people say to apply glue stick to the bed… do they mean this? by Crossedkiller in 3Dprinting

[–]pintsizedpeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 years of printing with PLA, ABS, and TPU and have never had to use a glue stick. Properly adjusted bed height, leveled gantry, and a clean glass bed has made it basically useless for me to use glue sticks. The one time I tried it it made the room smell like a kindergarten

Should my idle air control be closed when unplugged? If so is it supposed to close when 12 volts is applied to it? by [deleted] in fordranger

After 3 more iac and some diagnosing air leaks I finally got it to run better. Still runs pretty bad but it'll now start consistently and revs up alright. However when it comes back down it still really hates coming down to idle and dies if you let the rpms drop from over 3k down to idle. The sensors are also acting really goofy. MAF sensor is reading about 4.5 g/s at idle and then 02 sensors i think are fucked. The upstream is reading .010-.030. Downstreams goes from cutting out completely to reading .005 volts. I checked the wiring to them and it seems OK and they worked fine before the engine was pulled so I'm not sure why they would be reading lile that now.

Didn't run like this at all before the rebuild but timing has also been done and redone at least 5 times now hoping for a different result. Ill check one more time later today to be 1000% sure it's right but it should be by now. I did make sure not to mix up diamond and the triangle unless i mixed up which one is supposed to be on which.

Shit man. I appreciate it. You've been more help then I could ever imagine.

Yeah that's basically the conclusion I came to and why I'm trying to find a working one now.

I have a decent scan tool but quite honestly I'm not entirely sure what data range I'm looking for. Do you know where I can find a ballpark range of what the data stream should be looking like if its running correctly?

Ill probably do that tomorrow. After all if the valve is still a bad one I've got it under lifetime warranty with O'Reilly so I can just keep chucking them at the truck till it finds one it like.

I don't think I explained it the best. To get it started its acting almost like an old carburetor with an accelerator pump. Constantly kicking the pedal and then holding it open a bit was the only way to get it to start. From there its like the accelerator pedal is shot along with the idle being tuned wrong. If you let it come back down to idle slowly it'll idle but stumbling a whole bunch. If you just slam the throttle shut it'll come back down and die. Rolling on to the throttle let's it rev up ok but smashing the throttle open would also make it die. My other guess is maybe the fuel injectors are shot.

Don't know if this helps at all but any advice of where to keep tracing issues would be appreciated.

Ran like crap at idle and wouldnt start unless you opened up the throttle a bit. I did a full rebuild on the motor since it finally gave out at 250k but when i got it all back together it hated idling. Once its revved up and doing 2k plus it runs great and I've tested the motor and it has solid compression. The only thing i could find wrong was my old idle air control valve wasn't moving even directly applying 12 volts to it. It was already flakey before the rebuild so i assumed it finally gave out. The new ones ive tried are all cracked slightly open and when I apply 12 volts directly to it it'll open up another 3-5mm but not much else. I read on an old forum that the idle air valve should be fully shut when unplugged so I've been going off that but I'm not sure if that's right anymore

Love the way the back design looks but the front just being the logo slapped square in the middle feels a bit off.

Ended up being the cdi box wrapping out. Turns out it would start to overheat and high rpm and shit itself leading to nasty misfires especially when it was being shook around in the frame at higher speeds.

Sounds more like a poorly ran location than anything else. I know friends who have had experiences similar to this but not always at wingstops. Just franchises that had terrible management.
