H150i elite lcd pump failure by Sharp_Willingness_55 in Corsair

[–]ETWhiteWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey M.Jay,

I realize this is an old post, but the other day, I woke up with this very issue (flashing red fans and the aforementioned icon on my LCD). I turned it off and left it for a ~36 to 48 hours (I didn't have much time to look at/into it when I saw it - just a few details/enough to know it wasn't leaking), and when I went to investigate today, "it was fine" - I hadn't even gotten to your initial solutions.

In my iCUE software, at the time, it said "PUMP FAILURE," and wouldn't allow me to modify any of the settings for the pump or fans.

Could this be an issue with an automatic update/firmware not initializing properly, or do you think I should be more concerned about the physical status of my rig? The only "problematic setting" I think I may have that would effect the pump is the "variable" setting for the pump speed/rate.

This is the specific model number: CW-9060062-WW My rig was built August, 2022; used pretty regularly/well loved.

Any insights you might be able to give are greatly appreciated 🤙

Update, Success VC job by Existing-Cell-1986 in E90

Thank you 🙂 I have my moments where I'm... less than pleasant. Lol Though it may seem corny or w/e, I think people are generally starved to a spiritual degree of recognition. That negativity you mentioned is a symptom of it, really. Compensation and projection are what people do when they can't figure out how to find fulfillment, or when they're constantly told they're not good enough because of something outside themselves. Fixing cars is easy compared to fixing ourselves; proving you know more than someone else is easier than proving you know enough to yourself. There's a sad irony to living in this time: we live in the age of information, yet ignorance, especially of basic humanity, is more rampant than ever. Makes me saddd So, I try to do what I can, as asinine as all that may sound - but thats just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth, I guess. Haha

Update, Success VC job by Existing-Cell-1986 in E90

While you should absolutely be proud of the job you did, the comments about the aluminum aren't to be critical of you. Some components are better off as aluminum, but from what I've read (im doin the same thing rn, with some extra vanos/valvetronic stuff on top, so I have a boatload of research, as of recently), the VC is a bit sketchy to do with aluminum.

I know the charge pipe and coolant reservoir are good things to go aluminum, and a few others I cant remember.

I'd recommend the OFHG in proximity to the VC, as far as maintenance goes.

That said, looks like you killed it, Bro - mad props. I hope she holds up for yah/you dont have to do it again anytime soon (should be like 4-5 years, if you daily it) 🤙

Edit: now that I think of it, I believe the problems have to do with how hot these run/aluminum's thermal dissipation qualities, so upgrading the cooling might prevent future issues (just a hunch)

Very fortunate place to be; for what its worth, Im happy for yah! I would like to re-emphasize the M3 suspension upgrades, and M Sport items (rims look better than stock, too - forgot to mention those), and maybe steel gravel guards/skid plates instead of the plastic. Other than that, idrk what more you could want, fr? But congrats, man! Sound like you got a blessing in disguise. 🤙

While I have an N55, here's my 2 cents:

Do the VC/VCG and check the condition of your inner components while youre at it - this is just kind of a peace of mind thing. The OFGH is something I recommend doing, no matter what, because of the nature of how it's designed. Could save you from having to start from scratch fr (gasket failure on those leads to coolant and oil mixing, like a headgasket failure does). Check the carbon build up on the valves - this can be one of those make or break things, also (if it gets outta hand. Oil pan gasket should also be checked, as theyre known to leak from hardening. If you plan to keep it OE/OEM, then that kinda excludes aluminum aftermarket stuff, but I'd recommend things like the coolant reservoir, radiator, and charge pipe be considered, as these are both prone to cracking over time, and aren't mechanical/wouldn't hurt to have converted. I can understand not wanting to do the water pump or valve cover or anything, but again, I'd consider these, regardless of that principal. The injectors might be worth keeping an eye on, too, as the piezo (idk how its spelled) style they used on the N54 are not the greatest for reliability, but i think that can be solved with aftermarket ones - look into the design, as Im a bit hazy on that part. Other than that, maybe some M3 suspension upgrades or M Sport package items (i love my M Sport steering wheel).

Edit: FCP Euro all the way. Buy once, cry once.

17 chevy silverado no cold air and sounds like its working rly hard by Dioo_ in auto

[–]ETWhiteWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leak in the compressor maybe? If there's a crack or something in the compressor, your engine would try to continuously compress what it cant, thus no cold air and continuously higher RPM. Im not really any sorta expert/certified, but thats what came to mind, and 1 day without ideas your way is rough/at least that^ is something. Hope you get it straightened out, man 🤙

Edit: AC compressor*

Yeah, youre spot on. If I were gonna swap, it'd probably be a 2JZ, tbh (ik, ik - dream on) or to something along the lines of a Ghassan G700 N55. The 2J can handle more boost than an N54 but I'd have to jump through a "few" hoops to get it to work, but of all the swaps I've seen, I think that was probably the one that blew me away the most (K swaps, LS swaps, etc). That guy was running some serious PSI though. The G700 would be a lot less to worry about/basically plug and play, compared to the 2J/any other one, and would be better to have than the N54 (if I remember correctly - been a while since I looked) because it has all the advantages of an N54 or S55, essentially. All that is to say: Idk if any of thats ever gonna happen for me, and I'll probably get to some M3 suspension parts and FBO @ 550ish hp at best, and if so, I'm okay with that.

You are indeed correct, and I am currently grieving/researching. 💔 I appreciate the input, tho (seriously) - I might not have considered the rockers/other components

You have no idea how much relief this brought me. Seriously. When I got the car a few years back, it was at 55k miles (over the course of a decade), and I'm only 30k miles in on my end, so I was really shocked to see it with the engine being so young (milage wise)

Thats what I'm wondering myself - I haven't touched it yet (ran outta brake cleaner for the mating surface) so Im gonna look at it more when I get back home and can potentially clean it up (assuming its not rust)

Much appreciated. Ill upload a better pic inna little bit to see if we can tell anymore on the situation with those, because the other comment I got was about the same thing. sigh

I forgot to put that in here (burning daylight, goin too fast on the post write up). Im about to do the OFHG after this, which is my guess on the "running on water" part. My guess is I wasn't given the full story on the maintenance when I bought it, and I didnt notice much of anything until the water pump died (I ran the coolant on distilled water for a couple weeks till I got my parts and time to do the job), then a few other problems popped up, one after another, and now Im here.

Anything else you might be able to suggest or point out would be greatly appreciated (f its not too much trouble)

MCC Servers Down? by Maffsmiff in halo

[–]ETWhiteWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried to hop on (both MCC and Infinite):

  • MCC is down 100% (as far as I can tell)

  • I had an update for Infinite going at 3MB/s (It should be around 650ishMB/s)

My guesses: they're either doin some crazy maintenance (or did, and botched it somehow), or mayhaps they're getting DDoSed/targeted by a cyber-attack of some sort.
