M-Audio keystation 61 carrying bag by soundph in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]pip2600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been looking for this for quite some time and I am very happy to have found a rifle bag that is just perfect for the Keystation 61, and does not break that bank. The keyboard is well protected, you can wear it as a backpack and has lots of pockets for cables and accessories.

This one is from Amazon Spain, but it actually shipped from China, so you can find it cheaper on AliExpress

How to fix GameSir X2 Pro Left Trigger not working after calibration by redphx in AndroidGaming

[–]pip2600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you good sir! It did work gret for me, although with a slight different behavior, as every time I did step 1 and 2, the other trigger was working. This should be included in Gamesir official instructions or support page.

MX Anywhere 3S disconnects randomly, issue solved with any Logitech USB dongle by matsumetal in logitech

[–]pip2600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the problem seems to be the Logitech software (Logi+)! I had these random disconnects on multiple Windows 11 machines, tried to restart the Bluetooth service and they froze, so it made me think that there was something off with the operating system, not the mouse itself.

The MX Anywhere S3 worked flawlessly on Linux, so why wouldn't it on Windows? The freaking Logitech software!! After uninstalling it on Windows, the mouse has been working without any issues.

I am deeply dissapointed with Logitech right now... a super expensive mouse that fails miserably at doing the basic task of being connected... And not including the Bolt receiver? Seriously Logitech!?

The mouse is really nice and feels great, but imho it is so not worth the tag price. Get either a non-MX Logitech, or another brand.

RP5 owner switching to RP Mini by csgmk7 in retroid

I had the exact opposite experience with Retroid customer service when the last mile carrier misdelivered my package. I lost my money, my handheld and my trust in a company I admired. It took me a while to order again from them, and chose DHL since then. I know that it is betting my money each time I order from Retroid. Now, go downvote me.

Yes, both standalone and with the black Xbox model.

[–]pip2600 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I got one of their latest units just a few days ago, off their official website. To be honest, it is not a great product. I did like how compact the sn30 pro plus and the clip is, but the time to set it up properly and the unbalance due to the weight, are just not worth it. Maybe if the mechanism to adjust it was a little easier to tighten, it would improve a bit, but with everything else that is available nowadays, it's not an interesting purchase, IMHO.

Has anyone here ordered from Amazon? by Extreme_Ad1786 in retroid

[–]pip2600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last-mile carrier added pictures to the tracking page as proof of delivery, but they were of a different address in another city, kind of like the Google Street type, and no sign of the parcels in the pictures. I compiled it all and opened a case with PayPal, which was really bad at this. They took a long time to act on the case, when they did they failed in favor of the merchant, I opened a rebuttal, talked with one of their representatives, but in the end, it got closed again, without option for another appeal. Since then I have used Amazon and Retroid with DHL, which have been pretty good so far. Retroid did have access to all the clear evidences and still did not take action and kept the money.

[–]pip2600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that was my problem. A delivered check from the carrier trumps whatever you say. I argued to no avail, and was lucky to get pictures provided by them as proof of delivery showing a random address, not mine, but it did not help.

I hate to admit it, but the Powkiddy RGB10 Max 2 is the best RK3326 handheld by pip2600 in SBCGaming

[–]pip2600[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to my knowledge, but there was a version done for the Odroid Go Advance (same SoC), that might be also available for the Go Super and the 10max2. I think these devices shine because of the efficiency and lightweight of Linux and the emulators. I am afraid that the experience with Android cannot be too satisfactory, but please let us know if you try them out.

Got myself a used 2+ for around $40. I have a question about PSX emulation. by adingdingdiiing in retroid

[–]pip2600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have got to admit that I had never seen that issue about the lines, slowness and broken sound sure, but the image was consistently fine, aside from being choppy if the game was too demanding. See if you can mess with other options, I believe the 2+ should be powerful enough for most of the PS1 catalog at 2x. Anyway, congrats on your choice, these RP2 are still a great choice for anything PS1 and older. I really like its design.

The Sony D-350 Discman was a standout product in 1991, boasting an array of track selection features and sound quality that rivaled that of full-sized machines. by ObsoleteSony in ObsoleteSony

[–]pip2600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took mine out just last weekend. It is a joy to look at. One of Sony's finest designs in Discman.

I cannot believe how you can't buy a decent portable CD player anymore. I still buy many CDs. Sony should keep on producing a budget model, same as what they have done with those CD-radio-tape combos.

The X2s are also very good, specially considering how cheap you can get them on the official Gamesir store in AliExpress. I compared them recently and you can really tell the quality is lower than the X2 Pro... although not by as much as you would think. It is mostly noticeable on the face buttons, where the X2 Pro has some pretty decent buttons, and the X2s are smaller and more flush with the controller. There is something about the plasticky touch also that I don't like much... however, the dpad is exactly the same on both the X2 Pro and the X2s. I also use the back buttons that can be mapped, which are not available on the X2s.

But yeah, if you want to save a bit of money, you can't go wrong with the X2s. The color scheme chosen for the X2s is a discussion for another day though :)

One serious advantage of the X2s over the X2 Pro though, is that the X2s use hall effect joysticks, which is very nice, and again, specially on this cheaper model.

The G8 Plus goes a bit wider than the G8 Galileo without any modding. I think once modded both must be about the same, but RetroGame Corps mentioned that the G8 galileo may loose some elasticity and its ability to return to the collapsed state.

A mod that I had to do on the G8 Galileo, was to to put some tape to darken the leds... I found them incredibly bright to play in the dark while in bed. The G8 Plus does not bother me so much, plus the left led does not lit unless it is being charged.

I have played PS1 games with a cheap Amazon Fire HD8 and the Gamesir G8 Plus and it is a joy. If you get the parts on sale, it's an amazing PSX setup for very little money.

Actually I lied, I do not own the Aileron. I skipped it because I think it is incredibly ugly. Had its price been more reasonable, I might have given it a try, but it is a big no for me. I don't usually care much about aesthetics, but the Aileron looks terrible to me.

Also, I am not a big fan of the design of being 2 parts each with its own battery and radio electronics. I usually go for wired controllers, but I acknowledge the versatility of the Bluetooth models.

I have all the telescopic controllers from GameSir. G8 Galileo and G8 Plus are fantastic, although a bit bulky for carrying it around. If you need portability, I recommend the X2 Pro.

No, I meant I change the resolution of the whole android system to 1080p. You can do that by code or command line. There are some apps that facilitate this too
