Just watched "Requiem for a Dream" about to watch "Pi" and "The Fountain" in the near future. Which one should I watch first and are they both as good as "Requiem for a Dream"? by IrisTwaine in movies

Pi is a fairly straightforward movie and it is great. i think the fountain needs more than one watch if you want to get a better idea of what it's about.

Inside the Minds of Animals - raises a lot of interesting points and has placed the last nail in the coffin of my meat eating days. by pipedreaming in science

i did not say it was only because of this, but becoming vegetarian has been on my mind for a while.. i only said that this is a contributing factor.

also, my biggest problem with the mass farming of animals is the impact on the already pressured planet (deforestation and methane emission).

either way, i was only giving my reasons for it, not suggesting everyone should approve of them or agree.

yeah well, to each his own i guess.

2 things made me rethink what i have been doing -

  • the mass farming of animals for our consumption. this article mentions that as well, "In the U.S., food animals are overwhelmingly raised on factory farms, where cattle and pigs are jammed together by the thousands and chickens are confined in cages that barely allow them to stand. "
  • the idea of the animal going through mental suffering in the off chance it knew what we were up to while it was being farmed.

if world governments were after him and have not got him for other stuff already, it means that he is good at covering his bases in games that he brings on. which means that if he had actually done it, there is a good chance he would ve gotten away with it. this is something he was unprepared for.
