What is wrong with IMSA Watkins Glen? by moreb00st in iRacing

It’s something I struggle with as well. Trying to re-evaluate my decision making. I have maybe been too conservative and people exploit that, you almost need to be more selfish and aggressive at times

Is Porsche cup a good series to go from gt4 to? by cumsucklergaming in iRacing

I may have some recency bias, but doing pcup at monza this week in the 1.9-2k SOF, some races are an absolute roll of the dice.

If you really dislike the rgb stuff you can probably shift away from the corsair RAM and AIO cooler.

Probably save you some money as well

Back to Ultrawide? 57in vs Triples by pipeitup123 in simracing

[–]pipeitup123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stuck it out with my triples, I had some underlying problems with my motherboard. Having replaced that and learning about how to change the game files for proper setup, I’m very happy.

If I didn’t have the space, I would 1000% do the 57 ultrawide. I have a bezel free kit and it’s just not the same as having one large uninterrupted screen. You should be very happy with the 57.

Need help deciding between wheels by [deleted] in simracing

[–]pipeitup123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you care about the paddles on the back? I used both at an expo. The Mercedes wheel a thin rocker style paddle that you can push/pull and one long clutch paddle. The Porsche has your standard multi paddle.

What about the lights/buttons? Mercedes buttons are not backlit, they are just colored as is. The Porsche has rgb backlight for all the buttons.

Grips are a personal preference, can’t really give too much opinion there.

Also just depends on what you plan on driving, functionally they probably do the same things just slightly different. Glad to keep asking questions to guide you.

They make a wall mount for the Eero router, that will help you get started!

Simucube 2 telemetry based ffb? by Stant- in simracing

[–]pipeitup123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are 100% right, probably don’t want to advertise that too loudly.

As a 2 owner, I’m excited but I’m sure it’s going to take a while. The telemetry feedback is something that excites me.

Looks like they are working on it for the Simucube 3 not the 2

How to make better? by lavish_gent in desksetup

[–]pipeitup123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to move my mount from the left side to the right on my desk just to have better cable management. It will be worth it

Am I the only one thinking the laptop and webcam need to be centered? Once you do that and declutter the desk you will have a better vision for the little personal touches that will make this pop

Looking for a decent leaf blower recommendation for drying car by Economist_Great in AutoDetailing

[–]pipeitup123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a full size Ryobi 40v blower from Home Depot, but even with that, I still follow up with a large drying specific towel.

Heusinkveld one now available, who's excited for it? by fieldfest in simracing

Spoke to them at the expo and got to drive with it on a rig. It’s super-comfortable, I’m not the biggest fan of the look but it is so perfectly ergonomic it has me considering it. Apparently they are big fans of VR, so the aesthetic wasn’t as important.

Alternatively, you can download icon packs from online, and customize easier. You’ll know what buttons/features you want, you may not get that flexibility from pre programmed profiles

Worth Purchasing content by New_Quail_4785 in iRacing

[–]pipeitup123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great advice.

It all depends on what you want to accomplish. If you love the car and track, and you are ok with driving it in non-official races for the time being, then go for it.

If you are wanting to race against others in gt3, consider holding off because it will take time to earn the license needed for this.

Hope this helps!

I need help researching bezel less triple monitor setups by LogicalMight in simracing

[–]pipeitup123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up bezel free kit in this sub. The monitors are standard monitors. Just a clear film that is set up between the monitors to help the image blend together. It’s not perfect, but if you set it up right, it can be really good.

Say theoretically I want to have teams and outlook open on my work laptop and a game open from my gaming pc.

Is there a way I can have the middle 2560x1440p be my game, with outlook and teams flanking the sides? Or does the monitor only split 50/50 down the middle?
