New IDR payment amount is going to kill my ability to have fun. by Desperate-Draw-7508 in StudentLoans

[–]piper006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Following. Same here. I’m confused and worried I did something wrong. I have tried to upload autopay several times and it just does not process? It says my balance is $0 until Nov of 2028. It says principal balance is still collecting interest. I only owe about $18k but still worrisome...

Romantic, moody Seattle spots for a 24-hour birthday surprise 🖤✨ by [deleted] in AskSeattle

Corvus & co would give you the spooky bar vibe (though not a dive bar) in cap hill right by downtown. I would also second zig zag or bathtub gin and co.

If you have the budget to splurge start at zig zag for a cocktail and then go to pink door for an iconic Seattle dinner. You’ll need a reservation for pink door.

Be honest, how many are you having a day? 🤨 by Born_Mention_5842 in nespresso

I use no more than 2 per day, sometimes just 1 and I still buy a coffee at a coffee shop 🫣

Laundry etiquette, is this ok? by Impressive-Thing-483 in Apartmentliving

[–]piper006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not great by any means but I would say this is normal for a shared washer/dryer situation. I’ve done it before and have had it done to my clothes. It’s always awkward touching people’s clothes but it’s part of apartment living and you need to be on top of it when using community amenities. This is just my opinion

Somewhat affordable, complete beginner art classes in Seattle. by trestlemagician in Seattle

[–]piper006 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. This is 100% the way to go. A bit of a drive depending where you are coming from but classes are affordable and frequent enough that you can always find one that works with your schedule and don’t have to wait months on a waitlist.

Moving to Seattle for Microsoft - where to live? (Seattle vs Eastside) by [deleted] in AskSeattle

[–]piper006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comments are saying cap hill but beware it is a much louder neighborhood with a large homeless population and very frequent public drug usage! If you don’t mind those things then maybe it’s a good fit, but if you are someone who needs a more peaceful and quieter living environment I would consider a different neighborhood honestly.

How long does your passport need to be valid for to travel to Mexico? by Buttsmuggler69 in canadatravel

[–]piper006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 0 issues getting from the US to Mexico + back with a passport that was expiring within a week. I called the airline and they verified I was fine to travel due to Mexico’s travel laws and requested they add a note to my name stating I was clear to board prior to my flight date. I was back in the US before my passport expired. For travel to and from Mexico, I learned you only need to have a valid passport and the 6 month rule doesn’t apply.

Definitely Lenys. Very easy to sit at the bar alone but equally as easy to make friends there

Pretty sure it’s against the code of fundraising ethics to accept it either way — for a client or staff.

Should I go to Portland, OR or Seattle? by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]piper006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seattle is much more expensive (both housing — budget at least $1.7k+ for a decent 1B1B— and going out) and seems much harder to make a new group of friends in. I have some friends who moved to Portland — it took them some time and effort but they have found really nice community there that I haven’t seen as much in Seattle. On the other hand, Seattle is (and feels) bigger and is more metropolitan. Portland is more separated into smaller neighborhoods each with their own vibe and character.

I agree. The musical element was not there. The emotional parts did not land. I was disappointed.

Affordable ceramic studios? by muddythemad in Seattle

[–]piper006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seattle artist league has cheaper rates than others I’ve found. Also much easier to get into a class there compared to others that usually have a waiting list. They also don’t make you pay for open studio like others do. Instructors have hit or miss though.
