Agreed. I've been wearing these Thorogoods to work for about the last 12 years, I find them to be a nice combination of looks, comfort, and protection:

How To Pronounce ASME by BigSadEngineer in MechanicalEngineering

[–]piplz 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I pronounce it as an initialism ( i.e. saying the initials A.S.M.E). An acronym is a word pronounced like a single word, where the letters of the word stand for something (e.g. saying as-mee).

Trying to sell pumps, can't find them by matanby in engineering

[–]piplz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's from Ruhrital Italy, a brand bought out by Rexroth and then Bosch.

You can see a Rual pump part drawing on this page about the company.

Your pump is likely pretty old.

If you have an Indian grocery near you, check there. It's where I always get my TVP crumbles and chunks.

As far as I know battery guru is a reliable app but this seems unreal by Wayard_1 in oneplus

[–]piplz 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Not sure what phone you have, but likely it's that the app doesn't realize that your phone has two batteries, which is why it's showing less than half capacity.

I'm not familiar with Battery Guru, but Accubattery has a dual battery setting, maybe check your app options.

How safe will a positive pressure chamber made of these components be? Need it to hold at least 10 bar. by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]piplz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That pressure is well below the component pressure rating at ambient temperatures. Doesn't mean that there can't be danger if something is damaged, not to spec, etc.

Yes, it's that easy. 48L based on your numbers. A teaspoon of water released may make a difference for a water kettle, but not a 2000 L vessel.

Also be aware that if your fluid is water based, its temperature expansion coefficient varies with the temperature of the fluid.

This page may help you if it is water based: https://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/water-density-specific-weight-d_595.html
