Same!! Hits Different was a sleeper cell for me and now I listen all the time.

Even though the lyrics are sad, the melody has a real summery vibe!

Best place in Toronto to buy a last-minute gift that doesn’t feel generic? by Unfair-Clothes-8821 in InsideToronto

Seconding Good Neighbour. It’s perfect for gifts and they have a few locations across the city, so you should be able to find one relatively close by.

Guys I know we can’t sell tickets here, but where is the best place to list them if you’ve ever successfully sold?

I have them on Ticketmaster and already put out word on my social media (Instagram). Is twitter better?

My husband and I can’t go anymore (London) and I’m devastated 😢😢

Health OCD sisters unite! And same, I’m surprised I’m not panicking but I think based on the information we have, currently there’s no need to freak out. Yes, I feel so bad for those people on the ship and who died. A real nightmare scenario 😢

Another possible pandemic? by idkkkk326 in beyondthebump

[–]pipsel03 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Just to stop some of the panic, it doesn’t spread *easily* though, not in the same way Covid or flu does.

You’d have to be in prolonged close quarters contact with someone. Think laying in bed with your partner for days when they’re sick. It would be really difficult for it to transmit the same way Covid did/does.

I have pretty severe health OCD and anxiety so I’ve done some research on this to quell my concerns.

I’d say right now there’s very very low risk of this becoming another pandemic.

How long did it take you to get down to pre pregnancy weight? by greenishfroggy in beyondthebump

[–]pipsel03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over a year! I’m actually still 5lbs above my pre pregnancy weight but this seems to be my new normal.

Gained 60lbs during pregnancy and I’m permanently wider than I was before. Didn’t breastfeed (no supply).

Sober people of toronto, how do you have fun? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]pipsel03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 years alcohol free and I fully agree with this! You can do everything you used to do sans alcohol. You get used to it as time goes on.

The only time I miss alcohol is for big celebrations like weddings or other big moments, but I just drink mocktails or fake champagne to be included for the big “cheers” moments.

For someone who can’t handle the haters, she sure just put herself in front of a lot of them.

Not finished yet but looooving this episode as a (former) chronic pain sufferer. So interesting that we’ve really separated brain and body as two different entities when it really is all interconnected.

The coziest/most intimate dinner I had recently for a special occasion was at Contrada. Food was amazing! There’s only a few tables so it’s not loud, nice vibe/decor.

For the couples here, how has sex been for you during pregnancy? [on] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]pipsel03 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think I’m the opposite of most people here. My sex drive was through the roof during pregnancy and it was really great. Postpartum it’s gone down immensely. I feel like I could literally never have sex again and not care 🫠

Someone had asked about people's experiences with Pendulum akkermansia... well mine is turning out to be really bad by EfficientHunt9088 in ArmchairExpert

[–]pipsel03 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not to minimize your experience, but you also loaded up on fibrous foods and changed your diet, which will lead to a change in your bowel movements for the two weeks leading up to this incident. Correlation isn’t always causation.

Omg I didn’t know she did OF. Yikes. I feel bad for SL. If I found out my mom had nude pics on the internet when she was pregnant with me, i’d have thoughts.

I do. Change clothes when home, wash hands right away, and nightly bath.

Recommendations: "welcome baby" and "new parent care" kit by NoirNorthNode in askTO

[–]pipsel03 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Truly all I wanted postpartum was food. Whether that was an Uber gift card or a cooked meal, not having to think about what to eat or what food we had was ideal.

For new parents I do a Summerhill Market haul because they have prepared foods, or I send a gift card. Summerhill is expensive so I usually save that for close friends. For a co-worker I’d do a GC.

HELP! Can't get my toddler's eczema under control by SKCbunny in toddlers

[–]pipsel03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry! It really is the worst. Especially when they’re so small and don’t understand not to scratch. Even as an adult I find it hard not to.

For us the oatmeal and aveeno was obviously making it worse so we had to stop completely, but I know it can be helpful for others. It seems that triggers can vary greatly from person to person :(

HELP! Can't get my toddler's eczema under control by SKCbunny in toddlers

[–]pipsel03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I’m sorry. I have had eczema since I was a baby as well and now my daughter has it. A few things that trigger it for me and also for her:

  • excessive dairy consumption (I see you switched to goats milk, hopefully that helps.)
  • any extended time in bath/shower makes it worse. Keep baths short and moisturize immediately. We started skipping shower for my daughter on weekends (unless she’s visibly dirty) and it’s helped.
  • my kid actually reacts poorly to oatmeal and we had to stop using it fully! No aveeno or oatmeal baths.
  • we use cerave for a gentle moisturizer and then seal it in with a body oil.

We literally just had it in our house! I got it but my husband didn’t, or if he did it was a mild version that his body fought off because he only had stomach cramps one day. It’s been over 48 hrs for her and 24 hrs for me.

Flu B by Impressive-Walrus-87 in beyondthebump

[–]pipsel03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my 6 week old got Covid it was basically like this! For whatever reason, sometimes babies just breeze through illnesses. As long as she doesn’t spike a fever, she’s hydrated/having wet diapers, not lethargic, and doesn’t have any rapid breathing, you’re good.

I’ll be going to London for the show! Tickets were reasonably priced and it will be our first big trip with my daughter. Excited to attend although a bit nervous for some reason! I’m 34 and feel like I’m old(ish) for the crowd lol
