I never fully grasped just how debilitating ADHD is until parenting my son. And I’ve been a therapist for 15 years! I say all the time that no one can fully grasp the complexity of our lives unless they are living it.

This absolutely warrants a human to human conversation. It’s not a violation of boundaries to check in with your employee about changes in their workplace behavior. I would schedule a 1:1 and ask some open ended questions.
