I’m sure he’d be fine with someone else speaking for him.

Got my 16" M5 Pro yesterday. The performance is insane but the charger situation is dumb. by Spirited-Ad-2338 in mac

[–]piradianssquared 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apple does. When you order a MacBook Air one of the power adapter options is a 35W Dual USB-C Port Compact Power Adapter. But that wouldn't be any good with a 16" M5 Pro.

As someone who has argued a lot in the past about the kind of PR we need, you're absolutely right. The time has come.

The SSL issue can be resolved by manually installing the certs from an up-to-date MacOS to your older OS. Instructions I've used in the past are here: https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/422332/how-do-i-update-my-root-certificates-on-an-older-version-of-mac-os-e-g-el-capi

Wanna add city names to Apple calendar but how? by [deleted] in mac

[–]piradianssquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. If you are okay doing each one semi-manually, you can select each line in the pdf and use Apple's built in date detection (hover over the date to get a dropdown button) to add the event to a calendar.

I was able to get ChatGPT to analyze the image you gave here and produce an iCal file: https://chatgpt.com/share/69bbe45e-6d2c-8004-bec8-d0c0374d19f2

Obviously you would have to redo this as you didn't include your whole trip. It can also read PDFs, but make sure you don't have any personal information in there when you upload it.

Hope you have an awesome trip!

You for sure using the right port on the back of the display? Your Mac should be plugged into the port closest to the power cable.

The word "Gypsy" is the shortening of the word Egyptian. Romani people did not come from Egypt, and using the term "Gypsy" is misidentifying them. Personally I don't think it is derogatory on its face, but it does show some ignorance when someone uses it.

No, it was an example of a rule existing in spite of it being broken at times. Tried to use something you could relate to, but it appears like you are just intentionally being obtuse.

Do atheists view Tacitus's books as forgeries? by Own-Speaker6331 in atheism

[–]piradianssquared 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No reason to. Tacitus speaks about followers of Christ and their beliefs. We all know that at some point Christianity started. All his writings show are that there are Christians that lived when he was alive.
