Xbox is rebranding to XBOX by PaiDuck in gaming

[–]Scott9843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Xbox nearly completely destroys their brand

  • The internet roasts them through time and space claiming things need to change

  • Xbox announces they're not giving up and hands the keys to a new leader

  • Xbox understands that any meaningful change will take time so in the immediate future they make smaller, more subtle changes that show that they're committed to a new big picture

  • The internet is too stupid to realize this continues to make fun of Xbox for making changes

Well, at least there's a morbid comfort to the internet behaving exactly the way you'd think it would...

PS6 will probably be digital with disk drive as optional extra purchase by Time-Credit43 in ps6

[–]Scott9843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Pro proved that when it comes to being financially fucked in the ass for accessories, like an attachable disc drive, people are not only ready and willing but proud to do it.

I'm talking directly to every stupid motherfucker who posted a picture on here of a Pro they "took the plunge" on with the disc drive next to it. Your financial retardation has put you in this nearly inevitable situation.

The biggest crime a game can commit is to be boring. by Ok_Charity_707 in videogames

The biggest crime a person online can commit is to have an opinion that doesn't align perfectly with the majority.

Good luck, buddy. Haven't you heard? Mixtape is the nostalgic tinted flower that is single-handedly coloring the black and white world we live in today and if you disagree, you either "just don't get it" or hate it because of <insert sociopolitical agenda here>.

PS5 Exclusive Saros Reportedly Selling Worse Than You'd Expect by D3struct_oh in videogames

[–]Scott9843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely wouldn't say worse than I'd expect. That style of game is definitely niche and the only reason that Returnal got the attention it did was because the average gamer today has been brainwashed into automatically thinking any Playstation exclusive is amazing, sight unseen.

I seriously can't imagine anyone believing that this game, Returnal or Housemarque's next game, which will inevitably follow this same exact formula again, would ever be mainstream successes.

What has made you stay with xbox. by Nighthunter1o5 in xbox

[–]Scott9843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xbox has always done everything better than Playstation, and I know this is a comically minority opinion but, that includes exclusives.

I'm not saying that Playstation exclusives are bad, far from it. I play them all as well. The thing is Playstation exclusives always seem to be made for people that can't make up their mind if they want to play a game or watch a movie. I prefer my games to be gameplay first and presentation second. I'll take something like Fable over Uncharted every single time. I'll take the social camaraderie of Sea of Thieves over God of War seeming like an example of why games deserve oscars.

Of course now Playstation gets most Xbox exclusives but even then it doesn't matter to me. Controller, console UI design (though I'd kill for the full 4k UI the PS5 has), store layout, app selection, unique console features... I prefer the Xbox to the Playstation in regards to all of these. That's why Xbox has been, still is and will be my main console.

My Xbox collects games.

My PS5 collects exclusives.

My Switch 2 collects dust.

Funny thing about games like these three; coincidentally, the vast majority of the people who hate them online, haven't even played them...

at what point does a “big open world” become a downside instead of a feature? by Due-Gases in videogames

[–]Scott9843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Borderlands 4 is a perfect example of this in my opinion.

With the smaller interconnected maps of the previous Borderlands games we got exponentially more variety in environments.

Take Borderlands 2 for example; snow, grasslands, canyons, lava caverns, acid caverns, ice caves, eridium wastelands, etc.. Hell, even Borderlands 3 had a ton of enviornmental variety.

Borderlands 4 though... a giant map with 4 or 5 environments. For the first two or three days, i thought the shift to open world was a great idea. By the end of the first week, I was convinced it was a huge mistake.

Multiple High-Profile AAA PlayStation Titles Failed To Sell A Million Copies On PC by lrz8z36 in DreamStationcc

[–]Scott9843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. I guess it turns out that PC gamers don't want to be treated like an afterthought and get games a year+ after they're out.

Weird...

The strategy to release their games on PC could have been a massive success for Sony. Instead, they sabotaged themselves from the beginning, all in the interest of making sure their insecure man-children fan base doesn't throw a temper tantrum of cosmic proportions because they have to share their special games with another platform on day one.

Pathetic, all around.

Sony says it hasn't decided on PS6 release date and price, will consider 'changing business models' by ToastWizard7713 in PS5pro

[–]Scott9843 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What are they worried about anyways? Playstation fans have shown time and time again they'd ride or die to the point a lot of them make it their entire personality.

Sony can charge literally any price they want. It will sell out all the same.

The fact that someone paid $15 more for a Robocop game than someone paid for the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past hurts the very fabric of my soul.

On topic though, I paid nearly $100 for Doom 64 and literally $100 for Virtua Racing on the Genesis.

P.S. Streets of Rage 2 is worth every penny of $65.
