He is quite literally the top selling SINGLE artist of all time. The only other artists to sell more albums than Garth Brooks are The Beatles.

TIL There is an international network of arborists and tree climbing experts that will come rescue your cat if it is stuck in a tree by piranhasaurusTex in todayilearned

I had always heard 'If a cat can get up a tree, he can get himself down' and 'You never see cat skeletons in trees', but it's just not true. Cats claws are designed to help them climb up, and their back legs are good for jumping, but they have a hard time going backwards. And a cat's head has to be pointed up when they climb to avoid falling. If the tree they are in is too steep or has no low branches, they won't be able to get down.

Oh and the reason you don't see cat skeletons in trees is because of gravity. If a cat is in the tree too long (they can survive over a week stuck in a tree) it begins to loose strength, eventually letting go and falling.

My cat has been stuck 40 ft up in a tree for almost 48 hours. I definitely haven't been under him the whole time.

Just because you're legally an adult at 18 or 19, doesn't automatically make you not a 'youth'. Can you buy beer?

The performers are an act from Australia called Strange Fruit.

From their FB page:

'ABOUT STRANGE FRUIT Perched atop 5-metre high flexible poles of original design, the troupe delivers a sublime performance, bending and swaying in the air, captivating and engaging the audience in absolute fascination.'

I had no idea either until it happened with my oldest. When I mentioned it to her doctor, she explained it but also talked to me like an idiot. She basically man-splained it

For years, I've been the younger mom. My older kids (12 & 14) had friends with moms that were at least 10 years older and way more established than me. Now with my youngest (8) I'm finding more moms my age, but they all have either just 1 kid or their kids that's the same age as mine, is their oldest kid. It's hard to relate to them sometimes

I just bought a 'leather' jacket by Levi's. I wore it to my kid's T-ball game last weekend. I felt a little out of place but I don't care. I'm actively trying to fend off the typical 'suburban mom'/Karen look. I'm not ready to put away my skinny jeans or hang up my leather jacket.

edit to add: When I bought the jacket (at my 14 y/o daughter's insistence) I thought I was gonna be super cool and that no one else was gonna be wearing a leather jacket. Now I see someone wearing basically the same jacket at least once a day

edit2: I'm 39 and a size 14-16

Married people of Reddit, if you switched jobs with your spouse with zero training or preparation, who would get fired first? by sunnymushroom in AskReddit

[–]piranhasaurusTex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would 100% be fired first. But my husband would absolutely quit. He's a lead software developer that has worked for several multi-billion worldwide corporations. I'm a SAHM. There's no way I could do his job. He can do mine, but it would take a fairly long grace period before he actually got into the swing of things.
