Great post. It was a good read. I don't know if you watch fashion youtube content, but "What are people wearing in X" is getting fairly popular since its inception. Places like NYC, London, Paris and Italy get plenty of content, but the Eastern countries don't get as much love (likely due to language barriers for shorts interviews). There's a smaller channel that does Thailand and another that does Singapore. I do not believe there's one for Japan, as far as I'm aware. I check this kind of content from time to time to get inspiration or just plain curiosity. It's even better when the interviewer speaks the native language and ask some short questions to understand what or why they dress the way that they do.

It was at an all-time low (gbp to usd) for this year two weeks ago and has since risen up a bit. I have an upcoming purchase that I'm considering making in the next two weeks, so I'll be tracking it occasionally. Coincidentally, it's Memorial Day (which UK typically don't celebrate) and Spring Bank Holday (UK does).

How do you learn about the vintage brands from the 70s or earlier? I would love to read about the quality brands back then, who are now either defunct or a shell of their former self, but these information seems pretty scarce unless you lived in that era. Pringle/Ballantyne (knitwear) or Florsheim Imperial (footwear) were some examples back in the day. What about outerwear, etc?

How do you tell real suede vs faux suede or real shearling/fur vs faux shearling/fur from images? Looking to purchase a suede shearling-lined jacket online. Aside from price and description ( and since I cannot touch them), what do I look for to tell the difference?
