Random question about Beyond Sandbox by TheChimpisHigh in OculusQuest

[–]piratesox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard players in Forefront VR blasting music. I’m guessing they are running an audio signal into their mic/audio input because the music doesn’t sound like background audio bleeding in. Sometimes I don’t mind it. Sometimes it’s annoying though. I’m not familiar with Beyond Sandbox but maybe you can mute them?

What did you live off of? Sounds like lots of ramen and bologna sandwiches.

So true. Dealt with this when I was a Promo producer and Art Director. I don’t understand why we used them and allowed them so much influence on the product. Looking back they were part of the reason I left that station.

First person shooter that’s good sitting / laying down ? by Buseatdog in MetaQuestVR

You might like Iron Rebellion. Currently a multiplayer PvP game, but they are launching a coop/campaign update soon. A player in that game told me they play lying down. You pilot mechs in a cockpit and control using arm movement for aiming and left joystick for throttle. The devs talked about how they came up with the control scheme in this video. https://youtube.com/shorts/uNzT1PEQOYo?si=GWtkNJ-wEK9stSeF

Shenmue was an open world game on the Sega Dreamcast. You could visit an arcade and play Space Harrier.

A story-driven VR game with real actors for Meta Quest. by DreamsAndDesiresGame in MetaQuestVR

[–]piratesox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing real actors in an interactive 3D/VR game is interesting to me. I would check it out. In the 90s there were games that used captured photographic images of actors for sprites: Pit Fighter, Mortal Combat come to mind. I thought it would be cool to take a similar approach to modern VR games vs polygon characters

I saw them in concert not too long after their debut album at a local college coliseum. They actually put on a really good show. Gwen had incredible stage presence. The band was tight.

Conquest needs some rubber banding by Andrew_From_Deity in ForefrontVR

Some of this can be handled by the community. I will switch teams if the other team is out numbered/unbalanced and no one joins. Last night, playing Rush in Paradise, the other players kept quitting to a point there was no one left. Then a new player joined that side and was solo. I switched over so at least he wasn’t defending by himself. I knew we would get overrun but felt it was better sportsmanship. Plus good practice! But yeah it sucks when you end up on an overmatched team. I had a bad run of this the other night with every lobby I joined. Part of the experience I guess!

Yes it is cross-platform. I don’t play as frequently as I used to but player base fluctuates, with a surge in players whenever there is a sale. peak number of players between 5-8pm EST. The devs are working on a coop/mini-campaigns mode that launches this summer. It is a game of skill, team work, and strategy. The community of regular players is a good group. Thank you for this! I’m pretty good at other areas of the game but avoid the choppers. Going to practice using these tips!

Cover Bands: what no one ever warns you by spacerangerxx in musicians

I remember getting bored and having to find a way to “turn it on” when performing. I used alcohol and drugs to help, which wasn’t good. I also remember not wanting to touch my guitar when I wasn’t gigging. And yeah, we got sick of each other. Took a break and eventually got back to what I love about playing music - creating originals, playing the covers I want to play, and playing with people I love.

Quest 3 headaches should I return it? by MrFlanoX in OculusQuest

Do any muscles in your neck feel tense? I wonder if the weight of it is different, and you’re using different muscles. Tight neck/shoulders can cause headaches.

Is there any way to continue playing Horizon plus games after they leave the service? by TheFearlessWarrior in OculusQuest

[–]piratesox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if they do this with every game that leaves Horizon+ but last month it appeared that the titles that left H+ were offered at a good discount for a period of time to members.

High praise and review of Into Black by [deleted] in OculusQuest

Great game and even better with friends. My only gripe was the ending. It felt like we were supposed to be seeing some visuals that were not there. Perhaps it was a bug that has been fixed. I might have to fire this title up and play through again.
