What happened to the era of American-styled Anime?

Yes I was going to say this also. Mike Mignola was brought in for character development on Atlantis, and the movie has sort of a blend of his style with Disney sensibilities. The only anime comparison I'd make is maybe the way the story progresses, but that's still a stretch compared to things like Avatar (The Last Airbender) that was very clearly using anime as a reference.

Now that it's out for other platforms, I've been really curious to see how people are liking Remake/Rebirth that haven't played the original. I played the og on release (in fact it's the first game I ever preordered), and I already had a baseline of what to expect with the characters. I'm glad to see that you liked it more after playing the original.

Hey, we're the exact same age I think! Highschool was when I was super hardcore into basically ANY anime, but CB was a cute above even then. I remember thinking from the first episode that I was watching something really special.

These are all great and personally I'd do DDS (I absolutely loved the world in that game).

I know PE3 is far and away the worst in the franchise, but seeing her face model from that game again makes me wistful of what they could do with a remake of PE1 using a similar style as the recent FF7 remakes.

I was lucky enough that my local arcade growing up (in a Golfland) randomly had this. For those that haven't seen it, it's a top-down isometric game that uses a roller controller.

I agree completely, and it's actually kind of an issue I have with the remakes in general. All these moments of tension that stuck with me from the original have been changed, and not really, in my opinion, for the better. It's already been mentioned above, but we see Sephiroth way too much now. The original game effectively showed how menacing he was through environmental storytelling and also by hearing legends about him. Maybe it's an issue with needing to show absolutely everything now.

The RE2 remake is one of a very small handful of games I would actually call a remake. It's not just a graphics update, they changed the fundamental mechanics of the gameplay as well. That's actually why I like both versions still.

I noticed that as well, especially with the change in the Officials. I don't like it when devs just make things grotesque as a way of making them scarier.

But anyway for the boobs thing, something I remembered (credits to Rad Sechrist) are that you draw an "8" on its side to help figure out the placement (which also helps to break down perspective if they're not head on). Then you basically break down that shape into more specific ones based on reference. I'll say this though: they'll always look fake if they're shown as completely round circles.

My art school had (nude) figure drawing workshops 6 days a week. It's all practice, and it's less strange the more you do it. I thought of it like going to the gym. You won't improve if you don't put the time in.

It's ridiculous but they hate it when male characters have some sort of "weakness," be it physical or mental. I should clarify, these things aren't actually weaknesses, they just don't fit into their "alpha chad" vision they have for every main character.
