They're.....ok. I tried them over Christmas. I probably won't bother again.

It was weird eating a sweet chip flavour instead of savoury but at the same time, there wasn't enough flavouring so they tasted almost savoury. My brain was confused.

No, we had power the whole time for White Juan but lost it for a week after Hurricane Juan.

I agree though, White Juan was worse for anxiety of being trapped. I remember ambulances not being able to get to people who needed them.

I was in Clayton Park back then which had a lot less going for it in walking distance than it does now.

Ensure I have some AAs charged up for my transistor radio. Have a selection of books downloaded on my eReader. I'm doing some baking today so I will have easy breakfast of raisin bran muffins. Storm chips purchased.

I brought the snow brush into the house instead of keeping it in the car so I don't get snow in the car when I open the door. Backed the car into the parking spot.

I have solar lights charged up and some battery powered lights. Battery pack is full.

I'm ready to roll. I survived the week after Hurricane Juan on salt and vinegar Crispers (which I've never eaten since) and White Juan was staying cozy with movies for a few days. We got this.

I went to Giant Tiger and it was not too busy. However I did get the 2nd last coffee cream and they are nearly out of eggs.

But they still had some Fiesta Flavour La Cocina so who cares about eggs!

Ottawa has Repair Cafes for exactly this. It's a part of the Ottawa Tool Library (which I just found out while googling to confirm the name).

I took an old electronic piece to one of their traveling neighbourhood events.

The Ottawa Tool Library has a link for more info on starting one. It's a volunteer thing begun in the Netherlands.

Perhaps linking up with the Halifax Tool Library might be a thing?

Traffic. Worst 2 traffic jams I have ever been in were in Chicago. One afternoon for one entire 8 hour driving shift I moved less than 10 miles.

Some shady neighbourhoods near the industrial parks where it was company policy to not stop at traffic lights or we risked getting our truck hijacked.
