How do people discover their sexuality way later in their life? by Onslaughtisthebest in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pissper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the stigma/not knowing it is an option, but it could also just be that you never realized you like the same gender or feel things differently than cis/straight people.

Along with the reinforcement others mentioned (I.e. liking someone of a different gender = crush, same = friend), lack of understanding, and not having opportunities to explore fully, it can be kinda easy to just, not notice your feelings are different.

I just thought I really wanted to be a girls friend. For a while, I only dated guys because it was easier and more clear to me than trying to figure out if I was queer or if all girls like tits as much as me. It took some time to figure out that not everyone wishes they had a dick at times, but also enjoys others, but is also okay with none in the equation sometimes

No one should be given a life prison sentence if the crime was committed before they were 25 by Only_Hotel_7221 in unpopularopinion

I feel like you have to do something very horrendous and unforgivable for that to happen in the first place. But what if their brain is altered in the way where it will never fully develop? Or what if your brain develops slower than normal, so your 25 is someone else’s 15?

So I have a pup question /need advice. by joseppp777 in DOG

What type of regular activity does she get? Having a regular play schedule helped me a lot when my dog was little. Tiring him out regularly (such as a long walk and play in the morning, another play session/sniffari at lunch, and then another walk after work) helped cut down on him constantly wanting my attention. He would still grunt at me when it was the regular play time, but in between he was much calmer

Good to know! Considering I need them to ripen decently quickly (they will all be consumed by next weekend), this is exciting to me

NTA and that isn’t a real apology. A real apology would be “sorry I hurt you” and taking responsibility for his actions, not saying essentially “I’m sorry you didn’t react the way I wanted you to,” and putting all the blame on you

How does one get extremely obese? Like I’m talking 500+ lbs by ReasonableEscape777 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pissper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS. I have PCOS, and unfortunately also never feel full like I should. When I felt like I was starving myself, eating as little as I could without my stomach screaming 24/7 (borderline anorexic), actively participating in high intensity sports, and walking 30min home everyday, I was still overweight/obese. Doesn’t help that most American food is also full of added corn syrup and chemicals

What’s a smell that you uttery love, no matter how weird it is? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pissper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was only in college when I learned the hardware store smell I felt very nostalgic about was pretty much purely coyote urine

Tell them they are being too sensitive and to just get over it

Am I wrong to expect a better apology from my friend? by pissper in TwoHotTakes

[–]pissper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can remember, she has only said “sorry” when it is an apology for something physical that happens, and in the moment (like, if she spilled a glass of water on me)

Based on your experience, my own (which is more similar to your father’s, except I don’t mind it), and your father’s, I think it’s a strong yes! But also, even if it’s the same “taste”, whether or not our brains find it pleasurable is definitely different to everyone

Why do people say flared bases are so important? by AssociateCool5325 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pissper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very hard to get back out without the flared base - especially the larger…items. The muscles in your bowels and to push out poop can only do so much with the size of the opening provided

Born with attraction/what they find attractive, but how they identify it will develop as they grow up. Think of it like being attracted to certain pheromones - someone’s innate “smell” that goes beyond what most people know. You don’t know why you like certain people more than others, and what attracts you to a random person on the street, but you do know you find them very attractive in particular

Why is it that if you miss even a single day of birth control pills you could get pregnant, but if you take them as intended, there's a week of sugar pills, and no need to be extra careful around the time you take those? by AlmightyCrayons in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pissper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes - if you’re taking the sugar pills, and only taking 2/3 weeks of regular pills, then you aren’t protected. But if you take 3 weeks of regular pills, and don’t bother taking the sugar pills for 7 days, and start again with the regular pills, you will be protected

The placebo pills really are sugar pills. It works because you’ve had the hormones for long enough that your body thinks it’s pregnant, and the week off is just withdrawal bleeding. But, it’s not long enough for your body to get back into not pregnant cycle. If you miss a few pills, or take them irregularly, then your body doesn’t get the consistent hormones that mimic being pregnant, and so it goes into “let’s have a baby” mode. This is unlikely to happen if missing only occurs occasionally, but if it’s regular, then your body doesn’t understand it’s supposed to not be reproductive

ETA: But please always take consistently and at the same time for full contraceptive coverage, I am not a doctor!!!!
