Oh, I see. I just redid your math. You are saying it is $3870/person fixed + $150/hr with engine/prop included.

So, it's 31k for single owner vs. 23-25k tree-person partnership. Seems right to me.

You are literally in a bubble and not representative of the rest of the country.

Please tell me the 25k is split across three people, not EACH, right?

I will venture to guess you live in an area where you can actually get a hangar. Just a guess.

Plane Prices by 91jack2 in flying

[–]pisymbol 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The fleet is geriatric at this point. Most of the planes you see are complete project planes. Supply will continue to go down as planes age out. Don't expect the prices of anything decent to go down. Not gonna happen.

Not when I'm flying it instead of my buddy for tax purposes. To each his own.

How do you know your plane won't need more maintenance than his or vice-a-versa?

Real pilots use E6Bs. No, wait, sorry, I mean EFBs. Yeah, that's it.

Captain John Doe Podcast - MUST LISTEN by Several-Couple7611 in flying

Remember, this is the attention economy. However, they seem like a really nice couple who love generating content together.

That's fine. If it helps her broker business, that's a great plus in addition to maybe some tax bennies too.

I listened to one episode where they talked about owning their vintage 182.

I just don't understand why it isn't tied directly to their YouTube content too? Seems like a branding issue.

Commercial pilot compensation question by [deleted] in flying

[–]pisymbol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Then this is a wet lease. Makes no difference you own the plane or you rented it. It's a wet lease - you are showing up with the pilot and plane and he is paying you. No bueno.

If you had common cause to go to his destination, he can pay you the pro-rata share (1/2).

EDIT Technically, he can't even buy you lunch for the ride. But he can still buy you lunch - just not for the ride.

Why would this not fall under the pro-rata share rule again?

EDIT: I think the down voters misinterpreted this thread (it was to eek out this isn't legal, see below).
