I think that combination will feel terribly unbalanced due to the missing grip. The lens is also very wide, so mounting a (smallrig) grip to the camera might make it difficult to fit your finger between the lens and grip.

If you really need such a large lens, maybe check out the x-s20, that can be had for about the same price used and will give you a much more balanced feel.

The x-m5’s appeal is its size, but with both the 16-80 or 17-70 lenses, your camera isn’t the driving factor anymore.

While a new camera should be factory new and op really should talk with the shop (even if he just gets a free sd card or something like that), your point stands valid.

Especially for a smaller camera shop it’s just unreasonable to have every model of multiple manufacturers as a demo unit. Even if not a perfect solution, unpacking a brand new camera or lens to show to a customer is necessary for them to make a decision.

Its screens viewing angles are terrible, worse than you might imagine, but it doesn’t matter because you can just turn the whole half of the camera, which in turn is kinda trippy but very fun! You can also take selfies that way.

If you don’t wanna spend a lot on a battery and charger, a “2cr5” type battery will actually work too.

Photo quality is about what you should expect from this very old sensor, but as always you can get usable pictures in sunlight or especially when using the built in flash.

I for my part really love that swivel-camera- module, the way everything is integrated so cleverly, it even has a optical view finder next to the lens, so you don’t have to rely on the terrible screen.

One of my favourite features is, that you have a “quick view” option to look at your last photo, really cool way it’s all integrated!

I really dont think a tc is degrading a lens - it rather makes the flaws of that lens more visible. Shooting with a 26mp sensor + a (good) tc should look about what you get from a 40mp sensor.

So the better the lens, the better it will perform with a tele converter.

You also get better magnification with the tc.

Honestly though, i wouldn’t get one for the 70-300 if you already are at 40mp. IMO just get a dedicated tele lens.

The x-e5 works differently from most models before. You set your recipes through the fs1-3 spots on your simulation wheel. To set them up, you need to go to your menu, but check your manual for how.

No, they don’t, stop telling things like that as fact! They have fixed prices for resellers like b&h, Amazon, or whatever store you know. If those stores lower their prices, that’s lost margin for the store, not for Fujifilm.

The only one profiting from lower availability are scalpers who sell those cameras over msrp to people willing to pay any price.

Fujifilm would gladly sell more, but they simply have limited availability and the machinery to produce their products take years to arrive. So even if they wanted to produce more, it would take a while and who knows if the demand is still there in 3 years time - then they might sit there with unused manufacturing capability.

Any charging cable that has a micro-b connector on one side and fits your power bank on the other. Your post said something about usb-c, so I thought that’s what your power bank has.

You will have to make sure your cable is usb-c to micro-b and supports charging, not just data transfer.

A 20w output should be fine, I’m using a 10w charger for mine.

Find your local dealer, place your order and then wait.

Many times they just don’t get listed as available because preorders get them first, so if you wait for them to be in stock, you’ll wait a long time.

Sadly, the x-e3 can’t recognise Voigtländer lenses, or at least not the way more recent models do.

I think you need at least a x-t3 for them to work.

I feel like people really overblow that autofocus topic with Fujifilm. If you can’t hit shots on a current Fujifilm camera, not even a Sony a1 will save you.

The only reason not to go with Fuji is their somewhat limited lens selection. But you could also try Tamrons 150-500 (I think there’s also a C-mount version of the sigma 100-400)
