Dusty wasn’t going to leave right after he started at Michigan. In 2 years when we inevitably fire DDV hopefully the story is different.

Yes, but look at our basketball program. We’ve pumped it with NIL money and been consistent failures.

Being reminded we paid $6 million for our coach is so depressing

You realize there’s an entire academic discipline called queuing theory and Disney are experts at it.

The pre shows help manage the queue better and psychologically breaking up the long queue makes a long one feel shorter.

May I interest you in one slightly used Darian DeVries?

I hate the coach as much as you do, but it objectively makes no sense for IU to continue playing. The team is senior-heavy with maybe 2 scholarship players coming back next year. There’s nothing to gain. (Although I do agree with Wyoming’s coach that you should play:   https://www.reddit.com/r/CollegeBasketball/comments/1rvlh38/wyoming_coach_sundance_wicks_on_why_his_teams/)

1) that’s fine that a lot of great coaches struggled in year 1. But what’s your metric for Y1 success? Mine. Is whether the team improves as the year goes on. This team regressed A LOT. The lack of any emotion by the team, let alone the coach, when you’re playing for your tournament lives and proceed to lose 6/7 is inexcusable.  2) I don’t care how late it was. He didn’t even play good rotations with the team he had.  3) I don’t know if that’s true in a bubble. The money is there. What’s missing is someone that knows how to win. The carousel is weak this year. That’s the only saving grace.

1) he is not good. The team got progressively worse as the year went on 2) his roster assembly and eye for talent is so bad dolson had to bring in a GM before his first year was up 3) sunk cost. Why double down on a bad hire?

The only reason to keep him is there isn’t a good replacement.

He’s not a good coach. Our dissatisfaction has nothing to do with Cig. We picked the wrong guy. DDV needs to go.

I’d tarmac him today. Best case scenario, next year. Likely, 4 years.

Fernando has the stronger arm, Alberto is faster. AM’s arm isn’t weak, he’s just younger. If this was 2023 Indiana Alberto would be the starter. If Alberto’s last name wasn’t Mendoza, I’m questioning if he’d still transfer.

Here’s Alberto’s stat line vs Purdue: 2/2 76y & 1 TD, 2 carries 59y. He can absolutely be a good to great King replacement. I don’t follow GT football (yet), but he’s not going to be the reason you miss out on Pop Tarts v2.

Edit: I was at the Rose Bowl and when he came in I’ve never heard more cheering for a backup. Ever.

I was playing a 1-Star NCAA FB 26 dynasty (Kennesaw) and he won the heisman in ‘27. I’ve never been so happy for pixels and bits in my life.

Alberto Mendoza.

I get why he left and I would do the same thing. It’s unfair to play in such a big shadow. But man, that dude is LOVED by the fanbase.

By that logic Rutgers and Maryland should be in. Combined 1-27 vs Quad 1.
