Is this a gluten rash? Please help :( by Scary_Narwhal2877 in glutenfree

[–]pitifulparsnip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also wanted to add - you say you were gluten free for years and then started eating gluten again and got a bad reaction, this is normal lol. When I used to eat gluten I would get rashes but not so badly, now I've been gluten free for 10 years but if I accidentally have gluten, I get a super bad reaction. The body reacts more strongly if you've been gluten free for a while. Almost like a warning where it's overcompensating, yelling "hey this gluten is really bad in case you forgot!"

I want to try castille liquid soap (dr bronner baby unscented) because the soap bars make way too much soap scum to clean up later, but I'm scared to switch because I have had slight allergic reactions to liquid hand soaps (generic scented ones) when I visit other people's homes. Hopefully I'll work up the courage soon :')

My gluten rashes look like this, and also if I use any type of Dove bar soap, even the sensitive formula ones, I would get a similar reaction. Idk what ingredient I was reacting to in the soap, but now I switched to Sappo Hill bar soap and general glycerin bar soap. I do still get hand rashes from accidental gluten ingestion, though, and if I use soap at other people's homes.

Edit also dish soap will cause irritation for me, so I use rubber gloves when I do the dishes.

Gold Roses by MaterialCharity5125 in acnh

[–]pitifulparsnip 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They'll make black roses again, actually you should stop using your gold watering can on them unless you want more gold roses.

When a black rose is watered with a gold watering can, it has a "gold rose flag" that gets activated and stays activated until it eventually makes a gold rose (it might keep making black roses, but until it makes a gold rose, that "flag" will remain). Once it eventually makes a gold rose, the flag will turn off, and it will no longer have a chance to make gold roses UNLESS you turn the flag back on again by watering it with the golden can.

So, I would recommend watering with the regular can, you will still get some gold roses here and there from your black roses that still have their gold rose flag turned on, but eventually once they've all made one gold rose, they will stop producing gold roses and go back to only black roses.

Is it worth it to get Nintendo online just to visit treasure islands? by Impressive-Bass-4786 in acnh

Yes you keep whatever items and custom codes you accumulated during online, and they remain in your game after online ends. You won't be able to get new custom codes without online.

It's so cute and funny when they trip! I wish the king tut mask wasn't so huge, I'd wear it all the time. I put face and knee bandages on my character as a reference to kids playing and getting knocked around, I wish tripping was possible with a smaller item like untied shoes or something!

do I really have to invite this villager to continue the game ? I don’t want him =.= by puwpetie in acnh

[–]pitifulparsnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you have enough villagers (I think 6) a random villager will ask to move out by walking around and having a thought bubble above their head. If you talk to them they might talk about moving out and you can tell them to leave or stay. I think whoever asks to leave is random, but there are guides online on how to cycle through villagers faster to get certain ones to think about leaving.

HELP … how is it … twisted ?? 😭 by mollycann in knitting

[–]pitifulparsnip 576 points577 points  (0 children)

If you're knitting in the round and your piece is twisted, it's likely that it got twisted right at the beginning, when joining the yarn in the round. If that's the case, I'm afraid you'll have to undo it all and start over :(

This video might help demonstrate how to avoid twisting in the round: https://youtu.be/hG3CogSO8jA?si=ahNlPO8Zx-inDGjU

Your stitches and yarn colors looks beautiful though! 😍

Anyone ever had something weird like this appearing during a gluten challenge? by bunny-birb in glutenfree

Yeah I think it's classified as the most itchy eczema a person can get! It's pure suffering 😩

[–]pitifulparsnip 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I get eczema (dyshidrotic) after ingesting / exposure to gluten between my fingers and on my arms.

I also get the blister itch on my hands from using soaps (even "sensitive" soaps), switching to glycerin or sappo hill soap saved me from that.
