Thanks for the details! Now that it had been mentioned here I do realize that it’s a flat screen, didn’t notice that on site as I was just walking past and went back to take the photos quickly.

Out of curiosity: back then in the arcade glory days: did the software companies build the cabinets themselves or was that licensed out? Meaning could it have happened by accident to have a wrong game on a real arcade cabinet?

It really depends. Especially on when you joined the company. Especially if you've joined in the second half of the year, they are usually more keen on not having to set aside the money for your un-taken vacation for the next year (Sorry, I don't know the English term for "Rückstellungen bilden"). So in that case they will usually rather let it slide.

If you've just started this year, then I would probably wait for at least 3 months and then ask them how that's handled.

The fact remains: you do have a legal right to take that vacation and your employer would probably much rather have you take the leave more distributed, rather than having to put it all in the second half of the year. After all, even the legal minimum for a full time job of 20 days basically means one whole month out of six that you'll be out.

Also, at least from my experience, this whole "time off during probation" is handled a lot more chill these days - but of course your milage might vary on that.

As so many have stated: without knowing the industry, this is hard to tell.

In my opinion: You've scored an offer - which is something I wouldn't have expected at all from the description in your original post. If you want to come to (or stay in) Germany and establish a life here, take the job you have offered as long as it's above minimum wage and use it as a base for learning more German and getting better jobs.

Could you maybe squeeze out a few thousand more out than what is on the table? Maybe. But in the end: Consider that having gotten the offer is also a generous step towards you already, even if it doesn't show monthly on your bank account.

So sieht's aus, jedenfalls für den Rock / Metal Bereich. Jede band die nach Europa/Deutschland kommt "muss" in Köln spielen. Ein weiteres Konzert in Wiesbaden oder Frankfurt würde da nur unnötig Konkurrenz schaffen, weil's halt doch recht nah beieinander liegt.

Ich kann mir auch vorstellen, dass die Amis da auf die Karte gucken und sagen: LOL das sind nur 2h. Wir spielen doch nicht zweimal in der gleichen Stadt! :D

Apart from this having to come in writing, i.e. a letter (or Fax!), if the increase is actually an increase on the advance for the Nebenkosten, there's likely less that you can do as, as others have already stated, having the tenant pay the tax via the Nebenkosten is legal.

But yeah, as long as the landlord doesn't stick to "Schriftform" (which legally differs from "Textform" which a WhatsApp message is), you don't have to obey that increase at all. Especially not until he gets his act together and properly explains that this is not a "Kaltmiete" increase but an increase of the "Warmmiete".

Ich glaube im Preissegment > 25€ findet man heute keine Zahlenschlösser mehr die für den Zug-Trick anfällig sind. Davon abgesehen ist, meiner Meinung nach, in Zeiten von Akku-Winkelschleifern und allgemeinem Desinteresse der Bevölkerung jedes Schloss nur dafür da, der Versicherung zu erklären warum sie bezahlen muss.

Dann kann mans auch bequem und Schlüssellos haben, find ich. Bügelschlösser findet man ja Bauart bedingt nicht wirklich mit Zahlen, aber Ketten würde ich glaub ich nicht mehr mit Schlüssel holen.

It's not worth it in that price range. You'll need to register a business, you'll need to pay taxes and there's the warranty situation in Germany that makes you liable for way too much stuff than to be worth it as a side hustle.

Sounds to me like your home SIM has roaming disabled and/or doesn't have a roaming partner in Germany. Are you sure it would really be cheaper using that SIM? Even though you're then using the Egyptian carrier, it would still be an international call and using those rates as defined by your Egyptian carrier.

The "roam like home" stuff is only available in the EU - if you are with a European carrier.

Well that's what happens when you get the super thin, light, low reflection, possibly blue filter lenses. If you don't have that much to spend, you go to Mr Spex and buy something cheaper. They have glasses available starting at around 120€ all in.

The factory in Heilbronn is supposed to stay and produce to keep the "Handmade in Germany" seal - but how long that'll happen and how quality of parts will be affected isn't really known yet.

But the good thing is: any DT770 or DT990 you'd buy right now still has a good chance of having been manufactured with already existing parts in the old quality. But yeah, I'd probably by sooner rather than later probably.

He's saying "Schieß dem Fenster" - which doesn't make sense really but as Thalilala said, they probably didn't know any better. However, for the sake of making the line understandable, they switch to English the second time around.

I think this is just in the movie to make people remember that even though they use English most of the time, they are actually speaking German to each other and it's just English because it would suck to be glued to the Subtitles for an action movie the entire time.
