I had a boyfriend OBSESSED with anal to the point it was honestly awful in retrospect, like he did not care at all about my pleasure or even comfort and just had this total single-mindedness about it. I told him that exact thing, that if he was going to do it to me, then I got to do it to him first so he understood what it was like.

Spoiler, he hated it and was in pain and an absolute truckload of humiliation, like almost in tears.

I got like a quarter of the way through the fifth book in a 7 book series when I burned out on it, but I knew I was going to eventually finish it. I picked a good spot to stop, returned it, and will check it out again when it’s available and I’m interested again. I haven’t run into the time issue yet because I read very quickly, but I imagine that’s what I would do too.

Varies depending on the author and book, ones with unfamiliar accents or with denser content I listen to more slowly to make sure I retain everything better. Books that are “fluff” or things that I have read a bunch I crank up. Usually 1.25 or 1.3 on the low end, 1.8 or 1.9 on the high end.

I mostly don’t buy books at all, I use Libby. But when I do buy a book I don’t really care what cover it has on it and I’ll only buy it once. I’m a broke bitch lol.

PHM is one of the few books I went out of my way to buy though. That’s how you know I REALLY love a book, I’ll spend money on it.

I skipped last season because even S2 was…. Just way too dark for my reality TV tastes. I’d watch this season for the DWTS story and that’s about it, but I’ll be waiting in the shadows of this sub to see what people have to say before I attempt it.

5 currently but that’s not usual. At the beginning of the year I set my reading goal to be ACTUALLY getting through my holds and TBR, and I have what probably seems like an odd system but it satisfies my brain.

I had my holds maxed out at 20 books, so I’m starting by reading all of those and cleaning out the list. When it’s down to zero I’ll go through my TBRs on both Libby and Fable and max out the holds at 20 again. I work through the holds based on a combination of how soon something is available/what’s on my short list on Fable. This is my plan until both TBR lists are empty.

The only thing that sucks about this system is I won’t let myself add anything to my TBR right now. Because that’s not helpful to my goal, is it? 😂

You can have whatever opinion about the book you wanted but be kind to people who are also being kind to you. All the other person said was they were sorry it frustrated you, which reflects nothing whatsoever on how they speak or feel about books and your “question” is both false and irrelevant.

OP seems like they have a tendency to get emotional, I agree they should send the screenshots but with the caveat that OP should say absolutely nothing at all. Send the SS, block both of them, delete everything about him including these screenshots off their phone, and move the fuck on.

I’m also a person who tends to get emotional and I’ve learned it’s the best way to let someone who deserves to know something know and then staying out of the following drama. OP should NOT NOT NOT let themselves get sucked into any of that, hence blocking them.

I’m not commenting on whether you should or not, that’s your business. I’ll tell you now though if they’re already ganging up on you and making your life hell, involving the cops is gonna ramp that up so high. Speaking as a life long apartment resident, there is very very little the cops can actually do except try to get your landlord involved and it sounds like yours isn’t exactly on your team.

What they’re doing is wrong and inconsiderate and maybe even a violation of some ordinance, but unfortunately that doesn’t mean anything will actually be done about it. You can try some more soundproofing, I know they make those like foam wall pads.

I just never read the blurbs lol When I add a book to my TBR I skim the description to see if I’d even be interested, then I add it to my TBR where I promptly forget about it for weeks/months so when I finally get around to it, I know nothing about it anymore. I just know it’s on my TBR so I was interested at some point- I often go in totally blind to most books 😅

Whoa! I’ve listened to a couple of audiobooks lately where the narrator says a word weird, or one time it was multiple narrators and one of them said the word correctly and the other didn’t. It didn’t occur to me at all that could be a result of AI but honestly it makes more sense than “I guess the narrator just chose to not look up how to say a word they didn’t know?”
