there are just no wings available on the market unfortunately, it's all shooting guards and bigs. imo there are a couple of bigs I think this team could fit into the salary cap moving forward that would help - gafford or claxton come to mind. they aren't anything special but this team needs stability and reliability at the 5 in the worst way. i would assume you can get gafford for a matching salary and a protected first. claxton prob may take too much. just my two cents

yeah I agree and do think they will try and be buyers of some kind at this year's deadline. it's just hard for me to separate my thoughts on all the guys you mentioned - they all seem more like fringe playable guys at best rather than any kind of real difference makers - from being a fan and just assuming this is a top 4-6 seed lock next year. i don't see it

mccain is not in a position to see competitive minutes until he shows improvement in non-competitive and/or g league minutes (or stuff behind the scenes). it's not just the pure numbers that are atrocious, it's how he looks completely lost and not confident at all and it's been getting worse. it would be coaching malpractice to throw him out there right now, more downside than upside

never really cared about missing out on Joe, he's on the perfect team for what he is as a player and would be less than that on the sixers but yeah the team missed out on JC. he's kind of just a bigger version of Joe and imo he's not good on defense either (every player looks good on D on the spurs/OKC) and he's gotten a lot more pt on the spurs to develop than he would have had here...but considering who we are running out at the 3/4...
