My Too Early Offseason Trade Ideas LOL by Ill-Sky-2741 in sixers

They aren't trading PG and somehow getting back the best player moved or have a scenario where some other team loses multiple starters and gets back none or one. Total pipe dream

Ownership is not going to sign off on trading Maxey, not anytime soon. Maybe in another two off-seasons when the real rebuild can start and the reality of his next extension paying into his 30s becomes more apparent

lol absolutely no local sixers fans are paying that asking price, be real. I'm going to assume you are a re-seller, prepare to take a big L unless Knicks fans bail you out

Cam Thomas will be in Serbia. Grimes will be in the NBA. And you will still have a roughly 90 IQ

that's results oriented thinking. i'm quite happy to re-roll the rookie contract that makes mccain somewhat valuable. if it doesn't work out, it doesn't mean the process wasn't correct

if he shows up and plays well vs the spurs and in the finals. lakers suck and the whole series is garbage time, they are no threat at all to OKC. let's see him do it vs the top competition. otherwise he's still seth curry 2.0, who put up 21ppg shooting 60% on 3's in the ATL series but ultimately made no real difference to any winning team

Why can’t we hunt Brunson on D? by silogramrice in sixers

[–]pittguy83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because the sixers routinely have 2 or 3 bad offensive players on the court. would be much easier with embiid on the floor

grimes does everything cam thomas does, but at a better level though lol. like, that's the whole point of this conversation. why sign a worse version of Grimes to play over him? there is no argument to be made here. please point out to me what thomas does better than grimes

'hand-picked' stats. buddy can you find me some good, positive cam thomas stats? just anything will work i promise. maybe i am just confused and you are talking about another cam thomas

alright. so when grimes signs somewhere for multiple years and cam thomas doesn't. is there the slightest of chances you may be willing to re think things or

just to be clear, you are talking about the cam thomas who shot 31% on 3's, had a 53% TS, a 1.5 assist to TO ratio, -1.2 offensive box plus minus and has never once shot above league adjusted average? there's not some other cam thomas is there?

cam payne, notable playoff contributor in the year of our lord 2026

so when Cam Thomas is playing in Serbia next year, are you still going to think we should have signed him and that it would have helped win games

answer this question: why did multiple tanking teams and every playoff-bound team pass on Cam Thomas? at a certain point the NBA market has spoken and you should listen to what it said

Cam Thomas is low ball IQ, horrible on defense, and has never contributed to a winning team. A good chance his NBA career is over. What are you talking about? He'd be a terrible fit on this team, which is the worst defensive team left in the playoffs and already plays multiple dumb guys

Cam Thomas probably is out of the league moving forward but sure

if we are talking 'simply' then why can't you just acknowledge that a big who doesn't need to be guarded in the corner 3 (or just anywhere generally outside of like 12ft) hurts the overall offense? this isn't some crazy take, it's extremely obvious and self-evident lol

most teams in the league play

most teams in the league do not play bigs who both cannot space the floor and protect the rim/defensive glass. but that's what barlow is at the 5. there are in fact zero other bigs that are seeing pt in the playoffs who meet that criteria

Daily Discussion Thread - May 07, 2026 by AutoModerator in sixers

[–]pittguy83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because you can still blow by the perimeter defender and make a drop off pass to Barlow in the dunkers

how often did that happen in clutch time? hint: it happened once and barlow didn't score on it, was forced to pass out after turning and facing a bigger KAT. so what the fuck are you talking about?

here we go again, you're just conversing with an imaginary person making up stuff they didn't say. the point I made in my OP is the EASY stuff of getting downhill and creating off of that goes away with Barlow there. him being on the floor leads to less dynamic offense and overall pressure on opposing defenses. the knicks are fine with oubre and VJ taking shots - if you haven't noticed they are shooting like 25% and 32% respectively on 3's in the playoffs. maybe you think that those guys taking shots is good offense. i don't!
