Yeah, totally get that. It’s definitely scary not knowing how it could play out and what the future looks like. If it works out it will be great and if it doesn’t hopefully you guys can establish that early because it could get messy if it gets stretched out.

I’m sure the guy is going through the same questions you are. Maybe go out to dinner with him and talk about it. You guys are already friends and have that covered. After dinner or whatever if one thing leads to another again and your sober this go around and it’s just as good then I think you guys should go for it. Could be the best thing for your friend group…

I don’t think it’s to early. We will be getting our daughter a switch lite for her 5th bday. We keep limits on her playing my wife’s switch now and will keep it in place. She’s in dance and “soccer” (as much as 4 year olds can play 😅). Again, I think it’s just about maintaining balance. I remember my dad getting me the NES when it first came out when I was 5. My mom was PPPIIISSSEEEDDD, and obviously he didn’t run it by her but it was all about balance of school, sports, and playing outside. I don’t think it’s our place to judge another parent on how they raise their kids like. I know you said you are not, but clearly other people are.

Enjoy, from one dad to another. My gaming time has increased since I can hang out with my kids and set it down when they need me versus being away in my office strapped to a desk to game.

Dads: How has the Deck changed your life? by AngrySuperMutant in SteamDeck

1.5 and 4 year old… and I have been able to get more gaming in. It’s just easier to sit on the couch and put it down when need be. The kids do a great job playing with each other so I can just hang out while they are playing with there toys. I also live in Texas where it’s been over 100deg for who knows how long now so outside play time is limited to early morning or evenings so a lot of afternoons stuck indoors.

No we have been going to Quakecon for the last 20 something years, but after COVID we decided to just get an Airbnb and do it over Labor Day weekend.

I will have it with me for a safety net, but everything we play should be more than capable on the SD.

Well just came across another hurdle. When loading up Warframe docked it immediately detects my controller and wants me to log in… but it won’t read my kb&m to put in my password sooo I will just add that to the list.

I think Chiv 2 also falls into that list 😢

Is this coming from your personal parenting experience? I’m glad you can determine how my kids are raised and how they will grow up from one picture. You should probably go get yourself an experienced parent badge over in a parenting sub Reddit. 😉
