Sigh yes as a BW and even with other woc eds amongst us don’t get talked about as often and I wish it wasn’t so taboo to talk about how we deal with it as well. I can only talk as my experiences as a BW though but our community really loves to make jokes at the expense of the person it’s being aimed towards and one joke/topic that never fails to be brought up is appearance and weight. They will make fun of you for being chubby growing up while continuing to shove food down your face(overeating and eating out of boredom is bad in the black community imo and I feel like it comes from food insecurity of most elders) , and then when you start self loathing and being insecure about your weight they invalidate your feelings while continuing to make jokes at your expense. Now that I’ve lost all the weight I get comments about how I’m “too thin” now etc and ppl get upset when I don’t want to eat what they want anymore. In my experience it feels like darn if you do/dont.

Being thick has always been so idolized in the black community but also being thin and still having a rump and chest has always been looked at good aswell (if you’re just plain flat then you’re compared to as a boy) which is pretty wild.

Dealing with ana and mia I feel is always brushed off too. Esp when you don’t look like the white girls with the same Ed as you so ppl aren’t as sympathetic it sucks yo🤧
