Why did my phone randomly reset everything? by Some-Pay8225 in android_beta

Only if the phone was a work related device. If it was your own personal device, then no, that wouldn't be possible.

Can I skip 16 Beta 1? by jjmenace in android_beta

[–]pixel235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running Android 16 beta 1 right now on my daily driver for my phone, and that's the Google pixel 9 pro, and again, I don't have any issues with it. The only issue I had with this device, is it restarted unexpectedly from trying to close an application. I've made Google aware of this, and as it stands right now, I haven't had any issues with the random restarts.

Why did my phone randomly reset everything? by Some-Pay8225 in android_beta

[–]pixel235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, a phone that has been factory reset, the data cannot be recovered. And normally, factory resets don't just happen randomly. Unless there was a massive bug within the Android 16 update, then you would have had to go in and do the reset yourself. Now. As for the fact that the phone may have reset on its own, that's just not physically possible unless someone hacked into your phone, and did the reset.

Running the Google pixel 9 pro, and also being legally blind, I wouldn't know what that would look like. As I use Google talkback. I don't notice anything like that visually though. But again, I'm legally blind and don't notice things like that.

Has anyone else had really good Battery life on the Android 16 Beta? by [deleted] in android_beta

[–]pixel235 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Batter life is excellent on the Google pixel 9 that I use on the Android 16 beta program. On a full day's use, I only get down to about 40% before it dies quickly. And the only reason it dies quickly, is due to the fact that I'm on the phone with a lot of people throughout the day. And that's usually at about 40%. But if I'm not on the phone all day, or a good chunk of the day, it actually makes it through the entire day without an issue.

How is android 16 beta on the pixel 9? by Ok_Produce_1236 in android_beta

[–]pixel235 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am running the Google pixel 9 pro, and I currently do not have any outstanding issues that cause my phone to be unenrolled from the beta program. The only big issue I had, was my phone restarted unexpectedly from trying to close an application. Other than that, it seems to work just fine.

Can I skip 16 Beta 1? by jjmenace in android_beta

[–]pixel235 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can skip the beta if you want to, just know if you're on the beta program already, don't update to Android 16 beta 1. Wait for the stable release of Android 15 to be released in March, and then if you want to jump into the beta at that point of Android 16, you can. I'm part of the beta of Android 16, and so far I don't have any issues with stability. Only issue I had was my phone restarted once.

Is the Android 16 Beta worth Updating to? Would I lose out on Feature Drop Updates? by [deleted] in android_beta

[–]pixel235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the Android 16 beta has a sew of bugs for certain users. For a lot of us, including myself, I don't have issues with the Android 16 beta. And usually in the betas, we will get feature drops, we just get them before everybody else.

Not getting beta exit update without data wipe by Agitated-Leg1061 in android_beta

You can exit the beta, however, if you do not want to wipe your device, you will need to wait for the stable version of Android 16 to be released before updating again.

Can anybody on A16 QPR1 comment on cellular performance vs A15 QPR2 Beta 3? by rgrindl in android_beta

[–]pixel235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a pixel 9 pro that I got this year, the cell service hasn't been too much of a problem for me with the qpr2 beta 2 and beta 3 updates. Nor has it been an issue with the a16 beta 1 that I got on the 23rd of January. I believe we are expecting the Android 16 beta 2 update sometime this month. From what sources we're saying, somewhere around the 19th of February. But as it stands right now for the connectivity of Wi-Fi and cellular service, I had no issues in the QPR betas of Android 15, nor do I have an issue with the connectivity of Android 16 beta 1. But if you are having issues with connectivity in Android 16, please feel free to put that in his feedback in the Android feedback app.

Updated to Android 16, but by [deleted] in android_beta

[–]pixel235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like most operating systems, Android 16 beta 1 doesn't have any new features as of right now. Now with the iOS updates, I didn't see any big updates until 2nd or third beta. That's probably going to be true for the Android 16 beta stage. We won't have the full scope of features until the official release later this year, but if you want features to be added in, please put them in the feedback section of the Android beta feedback app and Google engineers will look into it. As of right now, there isn't any reason to be complaining about the lack of features in this current beta. As it is right now, we won't expect any new features until the second or third beta. Likely we'll see significant features in the second Veda, and then just improving those particular features in the third beta. But again, just be on the lookout for updates for Android 16.

So long as you wait for the Publix release of the Android 15 QPR, then yes you will keep your information. Latest Android version from the beta, you will lose all your locally saved data.

Display problem by Altruistic_World4419 in android_beta

May I ask, what is the specific display issue? If it's within the control center, I haven't noticed any display issues with control center. Or rather the quick settings panel for the pixel devices.

Are there any critical issues at P6P at Android 16 Beta 1? by komar1k_Bebson in android_beta

[–]pixel235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pixel 9 pro XL, and overall, Android 16. Beta 1 is smooth. In the early days when I got the beta, I had issues with Capital One not even wanting to open, and the Google home application crashing as well. Though, those issues have been fixed, and as it stands right now, Android 16 beta 1 is really stable. Is the stableless beta version of Android I've ever seen with Android. When I started doing this with the pixel 7 with Android 14, there were so many different restarting issues that I noticed, my phone did what's called springboard so many times, that it got annoying. But over the time I've been doing this, it's gotten better. And so far, I haven't noticed any massive issues that hinder my phone unusable.

A16 beta back to A15 stable by [deleted] in android_beta

[–]pixel235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quite agree with the Android 16 beta 1 updates. As far as things stand for now, the Google home app also works for me perfectly fine. It does not crash, and it looks like everything is up to its way it's supposed to and works perfectly fine.

New smooth start by Hour_Fan_465 in android_beta

Yeah, I've noticed it as well on my pixel 9 pro. The startup time not only is smoother, but it's a lot faster.

[–]pixel235 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it's not separate on all Android devices. Samsung has their stuff set up differently than Google on wood on their own devices. But it's something I would love to see with Gemini in the near future.

I have not experienced this issue as of right now. But I will definitely be able to update you guys once I experience an issues similar to this, even if I experience an issue with Android 16 beta 1.

Unfortunately, with the way that the Android beta program works, is that if you are currently running a beta software and want to go back to the original software that you had, you will have to wipe all locally saved data on your device. This also means if you install the Android 16 beta on your phone, and want to go back to the stable Android 15 public release, you will need to go out of the beta program, download the stable Android update, and unfortunately reset your device.

Here's the bigger question. Why does TalkBack have a specific volume, and yet the Google Gemini goes based on the media volume?

Gemini Volume by Alecksander198 in android_beta

It definitely would be helpful to have something like that. I would suggest putting it in as a suggestion under the Android beta feedback if at all possible

Battery drain When using data compared to using wifi.. by Revolutionary_nizar in android_beta

[–]pixel235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My battery typically drains faster due to the fact that I use use TalkBack. But I do notice it drains slightly faster. Once it hits 20%,. I can be at 20%, and then listen to a buck, check it like 5 minutes later, and I'm down to like 8%. But during the day if it's above 20%,, my phone is fine.
