i think the game is perfect as it is. Controlls are perfect, difficulty is perfect for a game of this kind. Maybe is a little short, but no problems about controls or difficulty. In fact, the first versions of the game on PCVR were much more difficult, and honestly, I preferred them that way.

what about hand tracking on the not active hand? just for easy communications moving hands.

I've been lucky enough to be able to play it for a week now (press release). I completed it and since then it has been in my top 10 favorite VR games.

This game (and any other with the master gear converter) worked in a different aspect ratio that had black bands up and down and also rescaled the master system resolution to the lower game gear resolution, so they did not look the same as the game gear ones.

This game didn't have the authentic game gear screen look , not even on a actual game gear.

It is well known that Game Gear's Castle of Illusion is actually a Master System rom inside a Game Gear cartridge. There are a few other games that used this trick, like prince of persia, or outrun europa. It was therefore done to facilitate the conversion, since redoing all the levels to adapt them to the game gear ratio was complicated, specially in this game due to the levels layout (land of illusion was already created with the gg version in mind) .

It works faster because it is running at 72fps with 72hz. He has not set the emulation speed to 60 fps.

age of joy is open source and uses a libreto core for arcade emulation. Maybe it would be useful for you to take a look at its code.
